X-men first class AU in "Beauty and the Beast" - style in which Erik is the beast and nearly feral and Charles is an arrogant, privileged Beauty.
I have no idea why this is working for me so good - there are torture-scenes on nearly gore level, but the world building is fantastic and all the characters are in 3D.
