Summary
At sixteen, Natasha Romanoff decides to start a new life. She's placed under the care of Phil Coulson, and finds herself forming an alliance with the other person in the home, Clint Barton. (Well, she calls it an alliance. He calls it a friendship. Eventually she yields and starts calling it that too.) When they go to high school, they end up falling in with Thor, Bruce, Steve, and Tony, four teenagers who may or may not be just as messed up as they are.
But even though the past is past, Natasha's is especially dark, and her mind can't quite let it go. There are some things that she's experienced and, more importantly, some lessons that she's learned, that continue to haunt her. Caring for people is dangerous, trusting them even more dangerous, and as it becomes impossible for her to detach completely, she has to wonder if she's doing the right thing, getting close to other people, or whether she should just leave and spare herself and everybody else some pain. She could take a chance, and see how it turns out, or not take one at all, and live her life alone and unencumbered by other people.
In the end, it really all boils down to one question. What does Natasha Romanoff want to be when she grows up?

Summary
Thor is captured by an unofficial offshoot of the World Security Council that is convinced that the blame for the alien attacks on Midgard rests squarely on his shoulders. Tortured for his perceived crimes and brutally experimented on by scientists interested in studying the physiology of the first known alien to touch on Earth, Thor attempts to retain his identity and sanity.
Referred to as Subject Zero, the Alien Life Form known as Thor, he has long stopped believing that his teammates are going to save him.
He's wrong.

Summary
There are good baristas. There are bad baristas. And then there's Enjolras.
To be fair, he's only working in the world's worst coffee shop because nobody but Mr. Valjean would ever give a job to a futureless hooligan with an ever-growing arrest record. The highlight of his painfully boring workday is this one asshole who always stumbles in and orders impossibly complicated coffee thirty minutes before closing, and Enjolras really wishes he didn't want to rip Grantaire's clothes off whenever they start talking political theory, or when Grantaire treats him like the law student he thinks Enjolras is instead of like a man who spends most of his free time writing angry letters and punching people.

Summary
You watch, through the ever-present haze of alcohol, as he stirs the masses into optimism. Starts to convince them that yes, there is life after survival (call 911, you think, tell them I'm having a fantastic time, except there are no emergency services left and your heart is confetti and the information man is dead and you lost your Buddy Wakefield CDs in the last Croat attack).
The world has ended. The government has collapsed. Enjolras, ever the natural-born leader, tries to piece together a community in the ashes. Grantaire follows him, for lack of anything better to do.
This is probably not how most people fall in love. Enjolras and Grantaire, however, have never been 'most people'.
