Prompted by Ellen Brand's description of Bleach as "Dead Like Me with sword-fights!" To which Vathara responded "You can never go wrong with adding sword-fights!"

At which point, Vathara's Bunnies presented her with the image of Hiko vs. Hollow. The rest... just happened.

String, however, finds something to help him deal with what's been happening: Michael Archangel himself. Summary

As she approached the actually rather unremarkable looking young man, she felt a swell of doubt. Was he really who she’d thought he was? Spider-Man had been a giant of a man, someone she could easily imagine at the front of her train, gripping hundreds of webs with power enough to crush the train car into the shape of his body.

This boy looked barely able to carry his overstuffed backpack. With his Oxford shirt and jeans and neatly combed hair, he could have been the poster child for a 1950s science scholarship. Not someone you imagined facing down an eight-armed psychopath on a speeding train.

Half convinced she’d imagined the whole thing, Maggie crossed the diner and stepped up to his table. After a moment he noticed her, lifting his attention from an open book full of equations and cracker crumbs to look right at her.

All doubt vanished when Maggie looked into his blue eyes and round face. It was him. No question. It was Spider-Man, right here at her table, waiting to order breakfast from her.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Count Taka is a wonderfully amusing story that mixes humour and seriousness in that way Vathara has that makes both better than either alone would be. I highly recommend it. And here you can read the beginning - the prologue and the first bit of Chapter One - to see if you think you'd like it.

    Summary

Balbadd's freedom depended not on armies or Metal Vessels, but on trade. Rashid Saluja was not just a king, but a successful merchant in Reim. And Alibaba is his father's son.

...Think of what might happen if Alibaba remembered that.

    Summary

The war ends on Harry's twenty-first Halloween, and, one year later, with nothing truly holding him in that world, Fate takes this opportunity to toss her favourite hero into a different dimension to repay her debt. A new, stress-free life in exchange for having fulfilled her prophecy. A life where Neville is the Boy-Who-Lived instead, James and Lily are still alive, and that Harry Potter is relatively normal but a downright arse. Dimension-travelling Harry just wants to know why he has no say in the matter. And why he's fourteen again. And why Fate thinks, in all her infinite wisdom, that his hero complex won't eventually kick in. Then again, that might be exactly why Fate dumped him there.
