When an incorporeal version of Loki starts showing up in his workshop to chat at odd hours of the day, Tony thinks there’s a chance he’s going crazy. But when there’s a dead man face down in a pool of his own blood on Tony’s bedroom floor and mercurial silver ships floating over New York, Tony is forced to come to terms with several things—among them his growing interest in the God of Mischief who’s so very different from what he remembers.

    Bookmarker's Notes

I love that this (the whole series) is romantic without being schmoopy and that it has edges of dark without being cliche or evil or caricatured. It's all intricate and layered and complex and full of multitudes of grey areas and explanations rather than excuses. It's full of the truth of actions, how we do things not for one solid reason, but how life shapes the choices we make from a variety of angles and we choose the best way we have, even if it's not a good choice. A totally brilliant read that will captivate you and you won't even realize the time. It's slow and soft and edged and hard and simply beautifully written.

    Summary

Imagine a world where people born with the ability to manipulate magic are forced to choose between being second-class citizens and working for the government in what amounts to modern slavery.

Tony Stark, playboy billionaire genius, is the CEO of the world's number one manufacturer of Anti-Psionic technology, like his father before him, and his grandfather before that.

Loki Olson, a warlock raised by the staunchest supporter of anti-magic regulation, dreams of a better future where he no longer is a fugitive hunted by the government, and works to make it happen.

    Then their paths collide.

This is a story of change, personal growth, friendship, love, and, most important of all, hope.

This is the story of a revolution.

Magic and Tech AU that is simply brilliantly written and encompasses elements of all three IM movies, Avengers, and a few other goodies that will have you squealing with delight from a fandom perspective and giggling madly from a magic/fantasy literature perspective. This is simply a delightful read that shouldn't rip out your heart or drown you in fluff, but balance everything so nicely that you'll wish there was so much more.

Fantastically beautiful one-shot. I'm not even sure how to describe it, really, but it is so worth a read and the imagery will linger long after the last word.
