  1. Summary

Widowmaker brought herself in from the cold, one day, exchanging a list of Talon agents for sanctuary. Why? That is not easy to explain. But it does get explained, and that leads to other questions, which are, in turn, also not easy to explain.

This is a standalone continuity largely canon-compliant with what we knew of canon in Overwatch before July of 2017 (pre Masquerade/Doomfist), which is when the first story was written. It focuses on Widowmaker, from the standpoint specifically of how a built - a created - personality thinks and feels about other people - and in general.

This is a collection of short stories and scenes set in the on overcoming the fear of spiders Overwatch AU continuity, centred on Lena "Tracer"/"Venom" Oxton and Amélie "Widowmaker" Lacroix. All are canon within that AU except as otherwise noted.

You should read the the original novella before reading these short pieces, both for spoiler avoidance and context.

  3. Summary

Overwatch was a little too willing, a little too eager, to resort to one particular extreme measure - one that required either Lena "Tracer" Oxton and her wife Emily "Kestrel" Oxton break their words, or break with them. They chose the latter.

The first story started as crackfic: what if Venom (my Talon Tracer) and the in-game Tracer met up for chips? They argue over which is actually evil. ("I Could Murder a Chippie")

Then there was a second, a lot less cracky, where Tracer broke through time and space again, for two reasons: first, to apologise, and second, saying maybe she made a mistake in giving up on Widowmaker for good, to ask for advice. ("Advice Received While On a Treadmill")

And then there was a third, where Tracer acts on that advice, and surprise, maybe Widowmaker is not so far gone as Tracer thought, and hey, maybe Overwatch is a little too quick to resort to extreme measures - and suddenly, there's a much bigger story here than anyone thought. ("And just like that, she was down")

    This series is ongoing.

    Summary

Most of her friends had no idea, of course. She was a well kept secret, even in her own family. The black sheep that cut her hair short, got all number of ‘inappropriate’ piercings, went into the RAF just because she loved to fly, made out with girls in pubs.

In truth, Lena Oxton was part of the British Monarchy. Not in line with the crown, of course. Close enough that it made her more stuffy relatives nervous, though.

And her life had been nearly perfect, she was an amazing pilot, free from the constraints of the royal family and the crown. And though she hadn’t really found a girl she wanted to settle with, she was hopeful she would one day. And it would be...perfect.

    ...Until the summons.

    Summary

“Ask her about Saint Petersburg? Really?” The first words out of Widowmaker’s mouth as she stalks up to where Sombra is still lounging by the bar, one eyebrow raised in irritation and a pissed off frown on her pretty face, and it’s an annoyed accusation. How rude. “What if he had actually asked? Hm?”

They haven't been left alone for one minute all evening and this is how Widowmaker greets Sombra? No hello? No merci for taking out the security cameras and warning us about Vialli’s men? No bonsoir cherie you are looking ravishing as always would you care to join me in the privacy of the ladies room so I can tear that dress off you? She’d picked this exact dress to get a reaction out of Widowmaker, and Sombra is a little put out that she hasn’t caught Widowmaker glancing at her chest once.

One little change can trigger more consequences than you can ever imagine. When you look at things from another point of view, it's not so hard to turn a hero to a villain.

    Summary

Lena Oxton has a terrible sense of humour. Her girlfriend and murderess Amélie Lacroix "hates" it. Also, Amélie sometimes has difficulty sleeping.
