    Summary

23rd-century London is a divided city. Two hundred years of genetic tampering has fractured humanity into subspecies, not all of whom are willing to get along. The capital's crime-ridden streets are now home to some fairly fantastic variants of human - some of them more dangerous than others.

For DI Greg Lestrade, Cross-Human Relations at Scotland Yard, it's all just part of the day job.

But when a horrifying discovery forces him to seek the help of Mycroft Holmes, Head of Criminal Psychology, Greg might just be tested past his limits. Mycroft is unpleasant, unforgiving, and famously impossible to please.

But if Greg needs anyone right now, it's a vampire expert.

With dangerous forces fast on their tail, Greg and Mycroft must work together to avert the vampire threat - before it's too late.

This is very intriguing, unique plot and the writing is superb. It's not exactly IC, but the author creates her own version of the two main characters and both of them hold up.

This is such a strange little gem. Mycroft ist courting Lestrade. In his own really weird way. There is snark. Oh the lovely snark, especially in the beginning. I found it intriguing, and strangely enough, this really works for me for this pairing, especially the first part. The second half and some of the dialogue feels a bit OC and clunky, but in general the story is absolutely worth the read, and it's nicely long.

A tfln prompt: (+44): He left his umbrella behind in my bed to 'keep me company', then stole my front door key before he went to work

And this one: And now I want Lestrade getting filthy too - IDK, painting his lounge wearing ratty tracky bottoms and a worn out t-shirt, covered in paint splashes? Knocking a wall down for some DIY home renovation? Anyway, all dishevelled etc. Up to you...but defo irresistible.

I have found a new obsession (Sherlock TV) and a new obscure pairing (Mycroft/Lestrade), haha. This is a cute short look at how a relationship between the two main characters might start. I like it, especially the first part, it makes me smile and it's slightly cheeky.

In the wake of the Reichenbach Fall, Greg Lestrade confronts a life that is often complicated, never easy, and not even entirely in order. Here's the thing: Sherlock Holmes was no killer, but he always was a liar.

The nonlinear unfolding of the story works perfectly here. I like the focus on Lestrade and the overall character interactions. The dialogue is nice, with some small bits of snark to round it off wonderfully.

This is Gen, and definitely worth a read, if you are interested in looking at the Reichenbach Fall through the eyes of a secondary character.

    Bookmarker's Notes

This pairing popped up out of nowhere for me after binge-re-watching three seasons of Sherlock in under a week, before finishing it off with season four. It's an underrated pairing and I haven't found many stories that work for me personally, but this one really does it for me. Lovely interactions and dialogue, well-rounded characters all around, and the plot (case-fic) is quite lovely, with a nice slow-burn to top it off.

It starts post Reichenbach. John and Greg are flat-mates and (kinda) working together, with Greg now working as a private detective (I think he lost his job, not sure though).
