'It is my personal opinion that we cannot take Snoke down without you. Sorry excuse of a man that you are at the moment.' Rey's eyes skimmed him up and down as though searching for something, and coming up wanting.

Kylo could not fault her for that. He’d failed at being a good man a long time ago, and a bad man more recently. He was adrift between two worlds, belonging in neither.

    Summary

Ben Solo is brilliant and handsome. He is also insufferably arrogant, a flagrant womanizer, and a total ass. On certain days, they get along as well as oil and water. On others, it's more like ammonium nitrate and TNT.

Which is why the prospect of spending the next 48-hours cooped up in a car--on a road trip with the man--has left Rey feeling a bit out of sorts....

    [excerpt]:
"Truth or dare?" he asked, leaning closer. She could smell the citrus and the bready malt on his lips, feel the moistness of his breath. The room spun slightly, and grew uncomfortably hot.

    "What's the dare?"

Ben pressed forward until their thighs touched.

"Dance with me," he said huskily. The steel guitar twang and smoky notes of Tennessee Whiskey played from the jukebox, the song's raw and bluesy longing pouring out from behind the Wurlitzer's walls.

Coded on a secondhand datapad in a run-down motel room in Mos Eisley, deleted and never sent: Everything about us was a whirlwind.

Written on a scrap of durasheet in a Tion Cluster outpost, the words fading after a while into air and ghosts: You shouldn't have forgiven me for any of it.

Scraped into the bark of an oak tree on the Argazdan homeworld: You won't believe the dreams I have about you.

    Summary

A cruel betrayal has since turned Lord Ren into one of London's most notorious rakes. Contenting himself to a life of debauchery, the Earl of Alderaan has long been viewed by marriageable society as a lost cause. Yet a chance encounter with an orphaned pickpocket proves that love may be found in the most unexpected of places, and that it is never too late to repair a broken heart.

    [excerpt]:
"She looks smart and quick, Ren. If anyone could do it, I would bet on you."

Ren laughed, the sound of it slightly harsh and foreign. "What, you would have me teach her how to be a scullery maid?"

Hux shook his head. "Of course not. Perhaps you could introduce her to the ways of the gentry. Work to improve her manner and her dress. With your guidance, and the resources at your disposal, I wouldn't be surprised if you could transform this pickpocket into a lady."

Ren snorted. "Yes. She is the model of a docile, educated and refined woman."

"You have no desire to bed her. Perhaps an interaction with the fairer sex without such distractions would make you appreciate them in a different manner."

Hux, ever the strategist, dared him with a gleam in his eyes. "Unless you're not up to the challenge."
