So, if you've gotten this far in Wrapped, I have to say something.
Thank you.
Wrapped is done, and if you want you can stop here, but once upon a time I was going to continue the story. After all, is only over 125,000 words, I thought surely it could use a few more. *bemused*
The story that bunnied me -- and still does, truthfully, though I find I can't write it to save my life -- covered even more ground than Wrapped, so it likely would have doubled the length of this, if not more. I began the sequel, but I only got through two chapters before the story stopped letting me write it. Soon after that, I lost all interest in the Potterslash I was writing, leaving a couple of other stories unfinished that I loved and always wanted to know the end of. It's been so long now that I know I'll never find out.
I never finished Her Paper Heart, but I am proud of what I wrote. I love the glimpse it gives of this 'verse's Lily and of Harry and Sev's life after Wrapped, so I'm including it here. If you don't like reading a small part of a story that you KNOW will never be finished, then close this now and remember Wrapped as it is, complete.

It was inspired by a LiveJournal entry made by Apetslife... She was talking about a dream she had and said, "Justin's in bed, running a lazy hand up and down Lance's side and hip, making listening understanding sounds, but really just watching the way the raindrops on the window make liquid patterns in the light on Lance's skin."
My first thought was Sev/Lucius and Riders on the Storm, in a storm. My second thought was my favourite Moby song, the instrumental Rain, and Sev/Harry. My third was bringing them all together.
Then it insisted it be written like this, which was totally different from what I saw when I began and has almost nothing to do with the borrowed bunny that inspired it.

I blame this totally on a dream I had about Sev and Luc after I finished rereading Magic's Price one morning. It was a very vivid dream that left me feeling sort of dirty because they were so young, but not dirty enough not to write it down so I could share it. I'm gonna enjoy my box seat in Hell, 'cause if Hell really exists there will be so very many gorgeous sweaty queer men and women for me to watch.

The story was inspired by lots of late-night talks with Jenn about what might have been if Lily married Lucius instead of James, and many impromptu RP sessions where she helped me figure different spots out. The song Resist by Melissa Etheridge, lyrics of which are included within the story, also inspired this.
Note: This story is an AU because JKR decided that Lucius is six years older than Sev after we began the story. Lucius and Severus are in the same year in this, which is also the same year as the Marauders, and they all left school in 1978.
