    Summary

do you ever wonder what's going on in that very-unfamiliar-language fic in your tag? me too:)
this is an alternative-Tibet-AU, co-inspired by a handful of films like Kundun and Tibet: Cry of the Snow Lion. Baze lives in misery and loses his faith long before the temple falls. but he's still a good man and wants to do something useful. therefore he makes a long and hard way through mountains to the Monastery of Golden Temple, known as the most effective charity centre, to become a monk. he receives a strange greeting there: nobody wants to take him, which is no surprise, but the Seer of the Temple (guess who) overhears them and they will do what he wants.
then there's some kind of initiating ceremony, where Baze must fight the Seer hand to hand. there's no better testament of Force's existance than a blind man throwing you on your back again and again. In the end Baze is scared out of wits, but it will pass.
it's eating my brain for almost a year now. I was hoping that someone eventually will write it for me, but... you know)

    Summary

    Summary

The moments between entering atmosphere and before landing were the calmest. The view of the desert valley, the distant northern steppes, the mountain valleys, shaded in night, was peaceful. All so intimately familiar to Baze. He could map them by smell, by taste.

And even so, he was not sure what he would find down there.

Under the Empire, no one could be sure what they were returning home to, no matter how long they’d been away.

A collection of drabbles based on "A Softer World" prompts. All originally posted on my Tumblr. These are in the order that I have written them rather than in the order of the prompts. Also the stories are not inter-connected unless specified.

    Summary

“She said it would be until the investigation into her previous home was finished—less than two weeks—before they would relocate her to another home or an orphanage,” Chirrut replied. “I told her it wouldn’t be needed.”
    “Chirrut,” Baze grunted.
    “Yes, dear?”
    “You’re taking in strays again.”
“And you love me for it,” Chirrut hummed.

(A.K.A. the kid!Jyn spacedads adoption fic no one asked for, but I'm writing anyway.)

    Summary

“I am going to be blind before the decade is out,” says Chirrut stiffly, “and one of your novices is responsible. I’m not soliciting charity, I’m demanding reparations.”

“Can we ask which novice is at fault? Do they... know what they’ve done?”

Chirrut becomes horribly aware of Baze Malbus – big, deliberate, level-voiced Novice Malbus, with his mulish brow and grim slash of a mouth and the set of his chin crumpling with an obscene tenderness that is more uncomfortably vulnerable than anything Chirrut has felt in his life – waiting out in the hallway, out of earshot. “I didn’t get a name,” he says blithely, “and I don’t care to know it. I do ask that knowledge of my condition does not leave this room.”

    Summary

"Get back in the water before someone sees you.”

“I’m good luck, you know, you should treat me nicely,” he says in English. He hasn’t ever asked why or how a merman would learn Mandarin or English, but assumes that he has picked up enough just from listening in on people.

Baze rolls his eyes, “you’re a pain in the ass is what you are.”

Aka Baze is the captain of a fishing boat, Chirrut is a merman au.
