Summary
The life and times of Leonard H. Summary
Non-Starfleet AU. Jim owns a small bar in Chicago, keeps on picking up strays and taking care of everyone no matter how hard it makes his own life. Spock is a journalist writing feature articles for the Chicago Tribune; he depicts the world with uncanny skill, but hides more than one personal drama and is possibly under surveillance from the Vulcan royal family. They meet by accident just before their lives start to spin out of control.

Summary
Written for space_wrapped 2012. Prompt: AU: Leonard hates staffing the emergency room during the holiday season; if it's not stupid people falling from ladders while hanging lights or pretending to be Santa on the roof, it's someone slicing open their hand trying the carve the family goose. When the whole Kirk family comes in with acute food poisoning, Leonard knows it's bad form to flirt with one Mr. Jim Kirk over an emesis basin, but he can't help it.

Summary
Written for a prompt requesting a fic in which brilliant young medical student Leonard McCoy volunteers for a Doctors Without Borders-type organization and ends up helping with the rescue efforts on Tarsus IV, where he meets a teenage, traumatized Jim Kirk, who will, for whatever reason, allow only McCoy to treat him. I have played fast and loose with TOS information about Tarsus IV and its location, making it closer to Earth so that McCoy could feasibly make it there and back in one summer.
Title taken from Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar, Act I, scene ii: “The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, But in our selves...”

Summary
Because the kid who’s coming is Vulcan, for heaven’s sake. There’s nothing fun about Vulcans. They’re logical and boring and, if Jim’s being completely honest, just the tiniest bit scary. And this is the boy who will be in his house, sharing his room, sleeping in his brother’s bed. How is he even supposed to start trying to make friends with someone so . . . well, alien?
