    Bookmarker's Notes

When the veil of death parts to admit Voldemort, Sirius is allowed to return to the world of the living, but the transition is not easy. To make Sirius's struggles to reacclimate himself to human society even more difficult, his godson has gone missing, and the attempts of Remus, Hermione, and Severus to locate him have been unfruitful. The plot of this story is fascinating, as are the interactions between its characters, but what I found especially thought-provoking were the applied meditations on the nature of some of the more obscure branches of magic in the Harry Potter universe.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Although this story is tragically unfinished, it is brilliantly written and meticulously researched. The author's notes at the end of each chapter contain a number of interesting links referencing period fashion, architecture, and social customs, thereby offering the reader a deep and gorgeous rabbit hole of Sherlock-themed goodness to tumble down.

    Bookmarker's Notes

This story is very, very strange. I keep telling people about it, but no one believes that it's real. To be honest, I have no idea why it exists, but I'm happy it does. Even after all these years, it's my favorite story out of all the BBC Sherlock fic I've read.

    Summary

It was meant to be nothing but a means to an end; just a simple plan to catch his attention and gain safe access to Vector. Celes convinced herself of that. Though when Setzer continues to fixate upon her off stage, she can’t help but recall the fleeting, yet distinct taste he indulged her with upon her capture. Maybe it’s another game of his. Maybe this time he’ll win. Maybe she’ll even like it.

    Bookmarker's Notes

I've been waiting for this FFVI novel my entire life. There have been other novelizations of the game, but never has there been one quite like this or quite so well written. I'm almost tempted to say that it's better than the actual game itself, as the Celes in this story is the brilliant and nuanced leading lady that FFVI fans deserve.

This was my nameday present from faerymorstan with art by inchells and I love it. It is perfect. Part of my present was letting me typeset it; a thing which makes my brain happy. Here's a PDF version.

So imaginative, so creative, and so clever! The words, the images, and the typesetting are perfect, and I could not imagine a more fitting tribute to the fierce intelligence and morbidly ironic play that defines Hannibal.
