    Summary

Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes come from two completely different worlds. Whether you’d define them as 'The Haves' and 'The Have Nots' or 'The Jocks' and 'The Weirdos', it was never pretty when the two sides mixed. Steve is 'The King of the Jocks': superstar athlete, insanely rich, wildly popular, and friends with every asshole that Bucky despised. On the other side of Eaton Academy's social hierarchy, you have Bucky Barnes: 'The King of the Misfits'. Bucky is wickedly funny, firmly middle class, out and proud, and doesn't give a shit what the spawn of Manhattan's elite think about him. If he wants to rock a ‘My Little Pony’ t-shirts and black combat boots with pink laces, he's gonna do it with a big grin and an even bigger middle finger up in the air. Most of the kids are jerks to Bucky because he dares to be different, but Steve has never figured out what it is about Bucky Barnes that drives him crazy, or to be honest, makes him nervous as hell. Something about Bucky is an unsolved puzzle in Steve's mind (one that he's been avoiding since ninth grade), so, when their worlds collide, Steve is forced to figure shit out real quick; and what he discovers is not at all what he'd been expecting.

T'Challa gives Bucky a jet when he leaves to go find Steve. "Do not break this," he says, like Bucky is a child. "It is worth more than your arm."

    Summary

Bucky is tying to fix the wreckage of his mind bit by bit, memory by memory. Through triggers, both good and bad, he's slowly recovering the things he's lost and piecing them back together again to try and figure out who he is now.
He needs a place to stay while he sorts himself out and he finds himself in a small, Long Island town called Oyster Bay.
There, he meets people who help him pick up the pieces of the people he used to be and finally figure out who Bucky Barnes is now.

    Summary

Bucky lowers himself against Steve's body, boneless and yet still agile as he speaks against Steve’s lips:

    “And how he kissed me.”

And Steve doesn’t need a damned engraved invitation. Steve doesn’t need to be told twice.

(While this stands on its own, it is an unapologetic follow-up/companion to A Day Without Rain (Or, How Bucky Barnes Learned to Stop Worrying and Embrace the Mud Mask) .)
