“You want to know the nature of my relationship with him.”

    “Yes.”

“Because you’re concerned I aided and abetted a known criminal.”

    “Did you?”

I saved his life. He ate my food. He drove me up the wall. We drank wine together. We laughed. He sent me roses. “I found Mr. Cobblepot wounded, and dying in the woods. I nursed him back to health. He owed me his life, which is why I trusted him when he said he had changed his ways. It was an innocent mistake.” We drank wine. I played the piano, he sang. He laughed at my jokes and looked me in the eye and smiled. He sent me roses.

27 days after Edward Nygma and Oswald Cobblepot part ways for the first time, the city-wide manhunt for the Penguin ends in Oswald's capture and incarceration at Arkham. An overheard conversation sends Ed searching for answers deep inside the Asylum. But Arkham is more than just a game or a riddle, and soon Ed finds himself in over his head. In the mazes of Arkham Asylum and Gotham city, as Ed and Oswald struggle to hold on to who they are, and to discover who they might become, both could use a friend to walk with in the dark.

    Summary

In the last days of the First World War, Dr. Watson returns from the service for which he departed in "His Last Bow," and looks for a new kind of work. He joins Dr. Arthur Hurst in his radical treatment of shell-shocked soldiers. But their work on the forefront of medical research, locked in battle against the destruction of the war, is disrupted by violent death. In addition to the obvious danger near at hand, there is the risk that this will discredit Hurst’s radical methods, and shake his confidence in his ability to cure those who so desperately need his help. Dr. Watson does the only thing he can do: he calls in Holmes. The case will require their joint expertise, and all the wisdom of their shared experience.

    Summary

At the eve of the second World War, Lieutenant Colonel Thorin Durin sends his young nephews - his only remaining family - to live safely in the countryside. Fili and Kili end up staying with Bilbo Baggins, in his cozy little house virtually in the middle of nowhere. The boys and their Uncle exchange letters, the soldier understandably worried about how they're being treated, and soon, Bilbo sees it fit to start adding little messages of his own - unbeknownst to him, Thorin begins cherishing those almost as much as his nephews' words.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Maybe it’s because there’s a world out there where his life lies in this boy’s hands. It’s important to know where he comes from, what makes him tick, why he broke for days on end, shattering over and over, sprawled in the dirt and wracked with sobs that Jalil still can’t get out of his head. It’s important to know why Christopher isn’t brave like David is, why he’s only brave when there’s no other option. It must come from here: this perfect upper middle class home with the two-door garage and the smiling, charming, blond, blue-eyed family.
