Summary
He's still so beautiful, those arrogant features made no less proud or dignified with age. I remember when he first started getting those threads of silver in his dark curls, how nonchalant he pretended to be (and yet I saw him pluck them out with a grimace more than once, unbeknownst to the great detective himself that I was watching).
"What are you thinking about?" he asks, that deep voice still rough with sleep.
"The moment I realized," I say, because it's suddenly true. I don't have to say what it is I realized; we both know. The corner of his mouth lifts fractionally.

Summary
There is a belief in this world that every decision you make opens up dozens of new ones, new and unseen parallel worlds where your decision had gone differently, where you’d done something else, made a different choice. Dozens and dozens of alternate worlds, adjacent but never open; dozens of different lives this version of you will never live.
From the moment John Watson walks past Mike Stamford in the park, his decisions spin countless of parallel worlds, parallel lives, where things could have gone differently with Sherlock Holmes. But the reality of it is that he only has this one, and there is no changing that.

Summary
The first time it happened was completely by accident.
Post-Reichenbach, John finds a way to hold on to Sherlock after all.
Prepare yourself for 1.) angst 2.) plot 3.) smut 4.) more smut 5.) even more smut 6.) more plot 7.) happy ending. But, in apparently WAY too many chapters. Here's an excerpt, just to give you hope through the angsty first few chapters:
"I am going to seduce you, Sherlock Holmes," he rumbled into Sherlock's ear, smiling as Sherlock's breath grew unsteady again. "Not because you need it, but because you deserve it. We both do." He gave Sherlock a squeeze. "Trust me?"
Sherlock's head lifted, those uncanny pale eyes looking at John with complete sincerity. "I've always trusted you, John."
John felt the last bit of tension leaving his shoulders. "Good." He kissed Sherlock one more time, swift and soft — a promise. "That's good."
