Summary
After John's released and back home at Baker St, Sherlock still feels it. Down the centre of his chest there's an ache like a healing wound. A physical awareness of a body he usually ignores as much as he can. It's psychosomatic, nothing more interesting than that.
(Set directly after S1, and written without knowledge of S2.)

Summary
Everybody likes John Watson. He's down-to-earth and unassuming, and standing next to Sherlock, well... It's no wonder everyone assumes Sherlock's the horrific flatmate.
It's as irritating as any false assumption. Sherlock may be difficult at times, but John is hardly the flat-sharing ideal.

Summary
Arthur knows that within a week, Eames will show up on his door, no matter which city he chooses. Like Arthur knows Eames kicks the covers in his sleep and makes perfect boiled eggs, white cooked and yolk still runny. Like he knows this visit will last for a month, maybe two, before one of them answers a call and has to be somewhere else.

Summary
As far as John's concerned, afternoon tea should be a cuppa and a few biscuits, not finger sandwiches and croissants, colourful macaroons and poetically described tea choices. He wants a cuppa, not an 'indulgent experience for the senses' that costs over twenty quid each. But come hell or high water -- or in Sherlock's case, mysterious disappearances and puzzling murders -- Sunday afternoons mean afternoon tea.

Summary
When Blaine's friend Susan drags him to an American Idol audition, he's not even trying to get past the first round-- much less into the top ten. And after getting through Disco Week, avoiding the media, and dealing with his very absent parents, Blaine's not sure he even wants to win-- although falling in love might make up for a lot of that. And maybe, just maybe, he can win this thing.

Notes
Other cultures, Braca has observed, use the word "love" to cover a bizarre range of meaning, from obsessively sentimental sexual relationships, to the genuine camaraderie of a smoothly-functioning company, to a casual preference in food or clothing. Only lately has he come to realize that his own language does much the same with "loyalty."
Scorpius/Braca is my slash OTP for Farscape, and this is a story that feels so right it's clearly the kind of canon that simply didn't get screened.

Notes
Arthur is going to make partner and then his life will be better.
Arthur is going to make partner and then he won't mind so much that he hates his fucking job, that he feels every day like his soul is being leeched out through his eyes. Arthur is going to make partner and the fact that he doesn't really remember what solid REM sleep is like will be worth it; Arthur is going to make partner and it won't matter that this is not what he'd fucking thought he was getting into by going to law school.
Arthur is going to make partner, and he's going to be the youngest one in the history of his firm. Arthur is going to make partner because he's the most dogged and he works the hardest and he's the best. Arthur is going to make partner because he's killing himself, he's just killing himself to do it, and if he doesn't manage it he might just throw himself in front of a fucking train.
Right from that wonderful start, this story grabs you hard and never lets go until the final glorious sentence. My favourite Inception story and teh one that's stayed with me long after reading it.

Notes
APN AU, Cas/Dean, my favourite ever SPN story.
They end up in the hospital cafeteria, because Dean's so hungry he's afraid if he gets in his car he'll try to eat the upholstery, and Castiel has that defeated look on his face Dean usually tries to erase with pie.
There is chocolate, peach, and cherry pie today, and Dean buys one slice each for Cas, who gives him that sad-eyed look that practically screams DIABETES, YOU'RE GOING TO GET DIABETES.
