  1. Summary

Modern Kirkwall is a place of shifting political power and intrigues that go further than just who's sitting on the Viscount's throne. The Hawkes are bound to leave their mark, but theirs aren't the only stories to be told in the Free Marches.

The Modern Hawke Family is Norina (Nori), Carver, Bethany and Leandra. The late Malcolm Hawke was a politician representing Kirkwall, and Nori followed in his steps.

Modern Bran Cavin has a son, Morgan Jason and an ex-wife named Jane.

This universe has Bethany/Keran and Carver/Merrill.

Nori and Bran are also in the more canonically compliant (not modern AU) story Paint Me A Picture

  3. Summary

Melissa Hawke and Sebastian Vael in a very nerdy college AU setting. They go to Kirkwall Tech, where Hawke majors in mathematics and Sebastian in civil engineering. Sebastian is part of the Kirkwall Society of Engineers. It's not a fraternity (it's close enough) but they do throw some really good parties.

In this world magic, elves, dwarves and all still exist, but in a modern college setting.

The Kirkwall Tech series Hawke Family is Melissa, Bethany, Carver and Leandra. Melissa is a diplomatic Hawke, earnestly trying to make the world a better place one good deed at a time. Kissing Sebastian counts as a good deed, right?

Jenna is the youngest child and only daughter of the Cousland family of Highever. Her patrician family is loving, warm and ultimately accepting of her, even when she makes the hasty, hard-headed mistakes that aren't easily remedied. No matter what world she's in, she always winds up with Bann Teagan Guerrin, even if the route is circuitous.

This series title is taken from Lovesong by the Cure.
