“The symbol perfects itself by the accumulation of approximations. As such, it is comparable to a spiral, or rather, a solenoid, which each repetition brings closer to its target.”

You don't have to ship Sherstrade to be in awe. WHAT a writer! Heart wrenching backstory on Sherlock, brilliantly imagined.

    Summary

Sherlock, still in Brazil for some reason, has set up an internet capture to alert him to any posting of John's, including strings of text typical of John's prose (or lack thereof) to pick up anything under a pen name. It leads him to a new blog, Sixty-Nine Whiskey, which describes the adventures of a former black ops / frontline combat medic turned accidental plaything of three well-dressed, powerful, tall, dark-haired, blue-eyed brothers...

(Combat medics are known as 68W, or "68 Whiskeys" in US Army parlance.)

    Summary

Sherlock is in pain. Billy Kinkaid, the Camden garroter and best man Sherlock knows, diagnoses it. Ademar Silver, a male prostitute in south London, attempts to treat it. Lestrade, a kindly Detective Inspector of New Scotland Yard, doesn’t notice it. Eventually, John Watson, healer and registered medical doctor, cures it.

And a beautician called Penny paints Sherlock’s toenails.

Glenmore does it again. Endearing as hell. Funny as hell too. Fresh look at the oldest of tropes, makes it seem newly minted.

    Summary

It seemed that Lestrade's salt-and-pepper hair grew in the same on his face as it did on his head. His beard was bristly, patchy, viscerally appealing in a way that had little to do with aesthetics and more to do with masculine sensuality. Mycroft was stood rapt, conjuring up the rough brush of the beard against his lips without having moved an inch. His apprehension dropped away, lost behind a painful stab of want.

Christmas, when he and Lestrade had both been strong-armed into growing beards for a cause, proved to be the turning point for the whole desperate scenario.

Lovestruck Mycroft. He's utterly besotted and terrified. Wonderful.
