Summary
Starting at the end of "Iron Man 2" and running slightly AU-ish from there: a (long) look at how things might have been different for Tony if he'd let Pepper walk away at the end of IM2, how the world just seems to hate Tony sometimes, and how Loki figures into the whole picture.
(Or: On beginnings and endings, broken things, missing pieces, and how sometimes it's impossible to patch your life back together in the same shape it was before you started falling apart. On how it's not only what we choose, but also what we don't choose that defines who we are.)
