Summary
The Avengers rumor mill is a messy, chaotic machine... especially when talking about the relationship problems of other Avengers. But sometimes it yields good results.
This fic is very 616 heavy, and it takes place just before the new Marvel Now! Avengers series. So, it's probably best to be somewhat up to date before reading it.
This was written before Hickman's New Avengers #3 so... keep that in mind.

Phil Coulson doesn’t like to do his homework in the Hufflepuff common room. He prefers the library, with its enforced quiet and easily accessible volumes. He has a little spot picked out for him; a small desk in the corner next to a large overstuffed armchair where he tends to keep his pile of books. Which is why, when he walks into the library and sees Clint Barton sitting in the over-stuffed armchair that is supposed to hold Phil’s books, he’s more than a little put off. Summary
For someone he'd hero-worshipped for so long, Steve Rogers in the flesh is a pretty big disappointment. For one thing, he keeps looking at Tony as though he reminds him of someone else, and even if he never says anything, Tony's pretty sure it's his father. A lifetime of not measuring up to Howard's expectations is more than enough, thank you very much, and he's certainly not going to make an effort to live up to any of Steve's. Steve's pretty clearly failed to live up to his expectations, in any case, and that's not hypocritical at all.

But it's not talking.

PSA (January 2013): Real Life issues has made writing untenable for this author for a while now. The intent is there to finish this story some day, but not, unfortunately, in the very near future. It only exists as a WIP right now, but, honestly, bugging me about it only makes me want to take it down. :(
