Summary
It's no mystery that Will Graham is troubled, nearing the dangerous edge that won't be so easy to climb back up once he falls. What is a mystery is why, when Will finds himself at the end of his rope one night, no different than a stray dog blindly searching for help, he calls Dr. Hannibal Lecter on nothing but a desperate whim. As Will falls harder in more ways than one and Hannibal waits patiently to catch him, a simple midnight telephone conversation evolves into much more than either Will or Hannibal had ever expected.

Will is worn down to almost nothing as bodies pile up from the Chesapeake Ripper. To make things worse, he comes down with food poisoning. Jack pushes him in spite of his illness - until Hannibal steps in. Classic sickfic slow burn, with vulnerable but angry Will and caring but creepy Hannibal.
