The Rebels they murder, Revenge is the word, Let each lad return with blood on his sword - Volunteers of Augusta, 1781.
It's a question that the other districts cannot even begin to fathom -- a question that simmered in the hearts of the citizens of Two as the fire crept across the nation, and boils even now as a new country struggles to rise from the ashes and bones of the fallen -- a question they don't consider because they're too busy not-asking why District Two never took a stand with the rebels --
The question is:
Why should they have?
Why District 2 stood alone against the Rebellion.

prompt: victors, sorrow found me when I was young; sorrow waited, sorrow won
"But what good came of it at last?"
"Why, that I cannot tell," said he;
"But 't was a famous victory."
19 named victors in the Hunger Games trilogy, and not a one escaped unscathed.
PROMPT: seneca crane/johanna, i've even loved a few times in my disgusting human way, from here.
All beautiful things, Father tells Seneca -- the horse shudders beneath his hand, eyes rolling in its head -- are better when broken, because that's how you know for sure they're yours.
Seneca loves Johanna; he knows this because more than anything he wants to see her come apart beneath his hands.
Seneca Crane will not be denied, even when he is.

As murmurs of rebellion travel Panem, an unfortunate 'coincidence' means that every tribute chosen in the Reaping of the 67th Hunger Games just 'happens' to be twelve years old.
Claudius, the male Career volunteer from District Two, finds the moment he spent his entire life training for tainted as he's now forced into the role of the Capitol's executioner. Lyme, his mentor, refuses to let her tribute go down as the villain.
Contains massive headcanon about the District Two Career training academy, Career culture, and D2's mentor system. Also Lyme, because apparently no one ever writes about Lyme, and that's a darn shame.

Nick Fury brings together some of Panem's best and brightest for a Hunger Game that will, hopefully, kick off the Rebellion and end President Snow's reign of tyranny. But how optimistic is he being? Can people really change? Meanwhile, Loki has a bigger plan, but what is it?
Tharkay is fond of remarking upon Laurence's summer home along a particular river in Egypt, but neither he nor Granby are exempt from vacationing there from time to time.
