Even though he's seen the news feed and been debriefed by a singed but aggressively unflappable SHIELD agent, Rhodey's pretty sure the sound he makes when he comes face to face with The Hulk's massive head and stern glare is embarrassingly close to a squeak.
Rhodey helps put New York City back together and meets some of Tony's new friends.

Steve throws an Ugly Christmas Sweater party for The Avengers. Loki throws Tony out a window (again). Darcy brings her taser. There are love confessions and drunken Twister and Maria Hill in a flying car.

"Do you think this is still a training exercise, or did we just get our asses handed to us by actual bad guys?" asked Clint.
Tony, Steve, Clint and Bruce spend quality time together in a cave. Tony does not build another arc reactor (even if he sort of needs one). Steve is all Protective Leader. Clint is terrifyingly good with a knife. Bruce bleeds and snarks. There is banter and embarassing amounts of schmoop and the boys get very touchy-feely.
Written for the cap_ironman holiday fic exchange (I'm late posting it here).

If you don't like this story, you are probably wrong. Even outside of the pairing (which is a little strange), the characterizations--of EVERYBODY, not just Tony and Loki--are spot on, the plot is interesting, the team is all present and accounted for, the bad guys are are fleshed out, and the relationship development is fantastic. This story has been recc'd by everyone under the sun who's even vaguely interested in this pairing and with good reason. I may be ruined for all other frostiron stories now.

This is everything I have ever wanted from this pairing which I'm still not entirely sure I want. Les Mis is an old fandom from my childhood, so this is a bit weird for me. HOWEVER, that aside, this was a brilliant piece of work. There is some very clever writing going on. The dialogue in the later chapters especially has a crisp-yet-smooth flow and wit to it. This story covers a long swath of time without ever feeling slow, and embellishes on well-remembered characters without ever taking them OOC. Lovely!

I fucking loved this fucking fic. I don't swear for a lot of stories but I will for this one because god DAMN I enjoyed it. This story managed to save Gabriel, John, Adam (sort of), pretty much EVERYONE in a way that didn't feel like a cop-out and didn't take things too far afield into AU-land. I don't mind a good very-very-AU fic, but I also admire when a story sticks close to the script with just a few changes that make everything different (but not by much). The ending (of the plot) wasn't quite the BANG I was looking for, but that's mostly because I like Castiel more than Gabriel and sort of wanted everything to revolve around and resolve with him. That doesn't mean the ending was poorly done, however.
This is fix-it fic at its finest, where a dying Gabriel jumps back in time and tweaks one thing that changes it all. It's cute moments of family Team Free Will and epic moments of plot. It's redemption arcs and romance arcs and plot twists and very happy endings. The wedding scene is perfect and I walk away a little more in love with everyone.

A broad, sweeping, ambitious AU which takes the story of The Hobbit and adds a James Bond-esque twist (though Bilbo is NOT a spy thank-you-very-much, though the same can't be said of Gandalf). I really love this portrayal of the Bilbo/Thorin relationship, which makes it obvious what Bilbo brings to the table in terms of balance for Thorin's steely stubbornness and temper. Manic Intent writes them as equals, though their specialties and personalities are very different.

One of my favorite soulbond stories EVER. Dwarves have heartsongs and Hobbits have names written on their wrists. But Bilbo's never been able to read the name on his wrist and Thorin's heartsong half has yet to be found. Sweet/slow get-together fic with a happy ending.
