Summary
The world needs more Loki/Doom stories... Yeah, I got about seven chapters into this story, when I realized it wasn't going where it needed to go. I have a dear friend and co-writer who doesn't post stories until she is quite sure she isn't going to re-think them halfway through. She is also way more self-directed than I am. But now after reading most of the Cabal arc and a big chunk of the lead-up to Siege (and watching more old animated Fantastic Four than I care to admit), I finally feel I can do justice to this story. I am taking it off hiatus, and should be making good progress forthwith.

This was seriously intended to be a fluffy, domestic story, about the established relationship between two super-villains who, logic suggested, could not possibly spend their whole time fucking with people. The further I went with it, the more I discovered that that's exactly what they do. Only behind the doors of the castle, the people they fuck with are each other.

Loki stops where he feels the power of old magic coming from a tattered scroll thrown open on the floor of the library from the blast. He bends down to retrieve it just as the Avengers are walking in... They demand that he turn himself in, blah, blah, blah. He rolls his eyes and calmly starts to read the runes but it is horrifying…
A story with Loki, wide brim hats, and hopelessly turned on mortals. Too bad the big guy with the hammer is always around.

Loki has saved Midgard from Jotun invasion and earned a place as an Avenger. First step is to visit Asgard for Odin's pardon. After that, the second step is more difficult to discern.
He returns to Midgard, and his place in what is now Avengers' Tower and, with him, goes his brother, who has now begun to act strangely. Frigga cannot be right with her suggestion that the Thunderer feels love for him, can she? The kind of love a man feels for a woman or another man (...or in Loki's case, for a stallion, or a Jotun giantess as well)?

John walks into the kitchen, opens the fridge, and is grateful for the uncharacteristic lack of body parts within. She says, mostly to herself but partially to Sherlock in case he's in one of his helpful (well, slightly helpful, well, more helpful) moods, "We're out of milk again."
She closes the door to the refrigerator, turns and finds Sherlock standing well within her personal space. She jumps, a little. It's not the proximity, she rather likes Sherlock in her personal space these days, it's just that she didn't hear him come up. It's unnerving.
"Would you not-" she starts, already exasperated and it's only half past seven.
"You're pregnant," Sherlock interrupts.
Wait, what?
