Summary
Geno had arrived in Pittsburgh looking every minute of the nineteen hour flight from Helsinki, plus however long he’d been in transit between there and his run from the KHL. Sid had been standing next to Mario, watching the new arrival expectantly, even though he didn’t think Geno was a threat. The other wolf had spent too much time negotiating on his own behalf to be allowed into another pack’s territory, and even more to be allowed to play with the team. But all the same, new wolves made Sidney antsy.

Summary
Pat grabs his hair, then, and yanks. “What. Do. You. Want?”
The heating unit by the window kicks on, the rattle echoing loud. Jonny’s mouth is hanging open. He gulps in air, and then: “Pain,” Jonny says. “Punches. Scratches.” He draws in a shuddering breath. “For it to hurt.”
Pat pulls harder on Jonny’s hair, tilting his head back. “Look at me,” he says. There are tears at the corners of Jonny’s eyes. “Look at me. You know that’s not happening.”
Jonny closes his eyes. Pat never quite understood the expression about crumbling faces before, but now he does. He feels like he’s watching Jonny’s face disintegrate right in front of him. “Pat. Please.” His forehead has lines of tension running through it; the muscles in his arms are standing out in stark relief. “I need to get out of my head,” he says. He’s breathing too fast. “And I.
