    Summary

John gets a box of chocolate hearts from a patient, and for a change he wants to savour them. It pisses him off no end when Sherlock nicks one. So he licks the rest of them to make sure it doesn't happen again. Sherlock isn't impressed. "People exchange more saliva than that when they kiss.”

And that leads both men to thinking along certain paths, and licking pre-licked chocolate and then finally... cutting out the middle man.

“Hearts are not had as a gift, but hearts are earned/
By those that are not entirely beautiful.”
-William Butler Yeats, “A Prayer for my Daughter”

John Watson is desperate for a flatmate. He finds one in Sherlock Holmes, a mad genius who, for some reason, has not allowed John to see his face.
