  1. Summary

Inspired by Victor Hugo’s Les Misérables. This is my attempt to see what would happen if an event similar to what happened to Jean Valjean near the beginning of that book happened to Erik Lehnsherr before he met Charles.

“At the moment you least expect it, God placards a meteor on the wall of the firmament. Some strange star comes along, underlined by an enormous tail. And that makes Caesar die. Brutus strikes him with a knife, and God with a comet.”
(Part IV, Book XII, Chapter II; translated by Charles E. Wilbour)

    Summary

"It doesn't hurt like that." The fear in his eyes, in his too-hard breaths, hardly sounds in his dull baritone. "I'm not the Voice of Night Vale anymore, it seems."

    ~

StrexCorp makes its move against the Voice of Night Vale, and Carlos struggles to handle the aftermath and its impact on Cecil, as the entire town rallies to save their community.

    Summary

This is just a linking of my two contiguous XMFC fics: All Along the Watchtower, which takes place during and immediately after the movie and Education or Why Cerebro was Built by Hippies which follows that and has its own plot. Both focus heavily on the relationship between Charles and Erik as they both struggle to live according to their personal moral codes. Also, pot and mice.

When Spock applies to leave Vulcan for Starfleet, he is twenty-eight, which makes him a well-grown adult in human terms, but still a teenager by Vulcan standards.
