That is the last time that Leonard plans a bank robbery anywhere near a medical center. Or a research lab, or an experimental clinic, or any of the other cute euphemisms that they come up with to try and hide the building’s real purpose. There always seems to be some doctor crazed with discovery blowing something up somewhere—or worse—and Leonard has had it. He and Mick were heading for the rear exit of the bank when the world suddenly exploded around them, bricks and glass and drywall shattering and crashing into them as the north wall ceased to exist. Now, the entire local precinct must be imports from some tropical climate, because forget warm, they have their thermostat set on ‘melt.’ A bead of sweat drips down Leonard’s cheek and he grimaces. “Why is it so hot in here?” he asks.
(Or, due to a lab experiment gone wrong, Leonard hits his heat early, just as he and Mick are getting booked. It's uncontrollable. Also, Leonard shamelessly flirts with Barry. TW: Some non-con threats and elements, but nothing really happens (and they're all very sorry).)
- Part 4 of Sex Is Nothing to Be Ashamed Of
Leonard wanted to know what it would be like to go through a heat willingly. To go through a heat with an alpha he liked—with Mick. It wasn’t his fault that it was coming a month earlier than it was supposed to. Omegas were only supposed to have a heat every three months if everything was working correctly. Here was Leonard, however, sliding back into one in less than two. He was apparently an overachiever.
Or, more likely, the years of being dependant on a variety of suppressants had fucked up his cycle and now his body was attempting to correct itself and make up for lost time. Fantastic.
(Or, Leonard, Mick and Lisa pull off a heist and Leonard's first willing heat comes early.)

It takes a long time for Len to warm up to Mick.

“But really,” Connors says in the Iron Heights break room, “if you did mess around with an inmate, who would you choose? I'd pick Wabash. What? He's got a nice face."
“If you like them looking like they’re twelve,” Smith deadpans. "I'd choose Khatri. If I'm going to cheat on my wife with a man, might as well make him the biggest damn one I can find."
"Snart," Jacobson says, shuffling the cards.
“Captain Cold?” Weber demands. “You’d pick the almost literal ice princess?”
Jacobson raises his eyebrows. “Can’t be too frigid,” he says, “he keeps Rory pretty damn happy.” He starts dealing the next hand amid a small chorus of nods and murmurs of agreement.
(Or, the guards at Iron Heights discuss who they'd rather, Mick and Len's relationship, and that time that Len seduced a warden.)
“And you!” the man wearing Mick’s face shouts, pointing at Leonard. “I’m going to kill you, do you hear me?” Leonard keeps his head against the wall but tilts it slightly towards Mick’s voice, a loose acknowledgement of the threats being made against him. “But first I’m going to fuck you. I’m going to bend you over and fuck you so hard that my cock will be the only thing that you remember.” Mick pauses. “You tell them what a cockslut you are, Snart? You tell them how much you like being fucked?”
“Yeah,” Leonard drawls, “it was right in between the discussions about liking card games and single malt scotch.”
Mick steps closer to the edge of his cell. “Mmm, how about the first time we fucked? You couldn’t stop shaking. Sixteen and didn’t know shit besides the fact that you wanted me.” Well there’s a trip down memory lane. Yes, Leonard remembers that. And it’s not something that Mick gets to toss out because he’s pissed or Chronos gets to use because he’s gunning for some kind of fucked-up revenge.
(Or, after the team captures Chronos, Leonard gets creative trying to help him remember being Mick again.)
