And what child doesn't want to live in a world that doesn't want to live in dreams, with no responsibility, no judgement, no pain, no sadness. These children were no different, no matter how they lived. Everyone is someone's child. Every child wishes for that - including theses -- especially these.
How would it feel to have your heart's every desire and then have to rip yourself away? Do you think you would break? What if you were already broken?
The team - this team - these children - they know now. They shouldn't have every had to find out.

Summary
The deal breaker that's made them both wish that they had silence in their heads, that they had never woken up feeling each other - the deal breaker is how the bond ruthlessly ferries their emotions between them.
Where Bruce feels attraction to people he's never met and where Tony feels a slow-burning anger at a life that's not his, a deep sense of bitterness that speaks to his own but isn't his. They can't turn it off, distance doesn't help, and in a single sentence, they can explain why they would do almost anything to sever the bond.
Tony has triggered the Hulk before.

Bruce had been finally settled in and living comfortably with Tony and the other members of their team when the comfortable life he was just settling into was turned upside down in one visit from Coulson.
The news that Betty Ross had been killed in a car accident was terrible.
