Summary
After a tortuous excursion into the far reaches of the Realms, Loki finds himself blindly adrift with failing magic on a strange embodiment of Midgard. But this Midgard is not the one that his brother frequented during his banishment, seemingly so long ago. This is a different Earth, full of new faces, but old admirers. And as Loki becomes entrenched in the political undertow of business in Gotham City as a mortal man, he makes friends as quickly as he makes enemies. After one torturous night, however, he is left teetering on the brink of destruction, and his friends must fight to find a way to keep him from falling apart before his enemies tear him apart for them.

Summary
The journey through life is a long one, and none tend to know it better than sufferers. But it is often that those who suffer are those who are the most dangerous; for they are very aware of just how much they can survive. As time passes and Loki's shadows come back to haunt him, even as he chases the light of hope through the furthest corners of time and space, he begins to realize a fatal mistake. His struggle, before the end, is then to do what is able to be done in an attempt to rectify that mistake. But even Loki's best plans tend to shift and crumble when unexpected interference appears in the form of such strange things like camaraderie, friendship, love, and the will to live.
