Notes
This is very good, although a lot more of it is faeries than Sherlock. On the other hand, what there is of Sherlock in it is very well characterized and it's a fascinating (albeit faerie-filled) and rollicking fun read.

Learning the Language [series] by allemande
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
This work isn't hosted on the Archive so this blurb might not be complete or accurate.
Summary
Rating: PG
Word count: 8.351
Summary: Julian Bashir joins the post-war effort on Cardassia Prime because it seems like the most obvious thing to do: No planet is worse off after the war, he's a doctor, and they don't have enough of those. He's learning the language, because that's what you do when you're living somewhere for an indefinite amount of time. But he soon realizes that language isn't just about vocabulary and grammar, and learns a few things about his own past along the way.Has a sequel of comparable length which can be found linked from the fic.

Notes
Another post-series fixit rife with end-of-series spoilers. It's a trope I don't seem to tire of at all and has just the sort of worldbuilding, tone and atmosphere I enjoy most.

Clint somehow finds himself fascinated by Phil Coulson's sartorial choices. He refuses to admit that he's kind of maybe been thinking about it a little too much.

This fic would win on premise alone, but the execution TOTALLY delivers all it promised and more.

Summary
Most people find Specialist Barton so annoying as to be impossible to work with. He's been bounced off so many black ops teams it's probably a record.
Agent Coulson is made of sterner stuff.

So perfectly how I imagine it that it's approaching the level of "new head canon".

Clint’s hands never shake. He can take down an enemy sniper at one hundred feet in driving rain while bleeding out from a bullet wound in the stomach (that’s not theoretical; he’s tried it) but his hands never shake.

A really warmfuzzy blanket story. But not at all idfic - it's very well-written and extraordinary, just also very romantic.

The mood is all melodrama here - angst and romance and thunder and lightning, really different from the usual ethos in this fandom. And well done about it, too.
