Summary
For as long as they have known, the Xavier twins – Charlie and Matty – have only really had each other. Their world has always been a world of two and only two. That is, until an incident in their 16th year sends them to different sides of the globe with no means of contact.
Since then, Matt has come out to Charles as Raven, Charles has matriculated at art school, and Raven has found work as a professional brassiere fitter. From calls that are far and few between, Charles gathers that Raven is quite happy with her job in the other side of the country. Charles has found, and lives with, a dreamy German exchange student called Erik Lehnsherr.
Things aren't perfect, but they're not too bad, considering what Charles has been through. One day, however, all of that comes crashing down when Raven decides to turn up at their apartment out of nowhere, asking Charles to let her stay for three months.
A story told in flashbacks, fights, and hugs.
Written as a fill for a kink meme prompt, which is in turn based on Red Without Blue (2007).

UPDATE 1st April 2012 - I just read this again and HOLY CRAP the continuity issues (e.g. Darwin and Angel appear out of nowhere, not clear whether it takes place at CIA HQ or Charles' home, etc)!!! I'd have half a mind to delete this fic. I will leave this up here for now, but I will be going through this when real life clears up and fixing all the terribly careless errors in this thing. I'm a bit embarrassed that I published this now. *hangs head* I think I finally understand the value of asking someone to beta a fic.

Charles has epilepsy and tries to hide it. Raven is the only one who knows. Eventually, Erik and company find out. Assumptions lead to misunderstandings lead to angst as our mutant boys deal with the repercussions of their past and try to sort out their relationship.
Featuring protective/jealous!Raven, protective/jealous/angsty!Erik, self-deprecating!Charles, and helpful!Hank. This takes place sometime during the film, after Charles rescues Erik out of the water but before Shaw's attack on CIA headquarters.

This AU fic takes place while Erik & Charles are training the young recruits at the mansion. They are on their way to a date at the theatres when they bump into Kurt Marko, Charles' stepfather whom he has not met in more than 10 years. Charles asks to leave the theatre immediately, and Erik takes him home. During the night, Charles has nightmares, and decides to share details about his past with Erik.
Since I began writing, the fic has expanded into an AU/alternate canon/alternate ending/fix-it hybrid, with plenty of angst, hurt/comfort, and emotions on the way.

Charles Wesley Xavier is just another lab rat at Shaw Pharmaceuticals. His father walked out on him when he was a baby. His best friend and co-worker, Hank, has been fucking his girlfriend, Raven, for the past 4 months. He's so pathetic, he just lets it happen under his nose. He's not sure what his boss, Emma Frost, loves more; sucking the CEO's cock, or making Charles' life at the lab a nightmare.
In fact, Charles is so pathetic that he hears voices in his head and has panic attacks. Raven only puts up with him for the apartment. They don't even sleep on the same bed anymore. Charles sleeps on the couch. He doesn't know why he doesn't just kill himself - probably because he's so pathetic, he can't even gather up the resolve to do that. Instead, he just goes by each day, nine to five, nine to five, like a lab rat waiting to die.
One fateful day, all that changes when a tall, mysterious German named Erik "Fox" Lehnsherr turns up at the laboratory and tells him he's got to avenge his father's death.
