Captured in battle, Major Jamie Stewart faces an uncertain fate.

I've been lucky enough to receive four beautiful pieces of art for this story:

My Dearest Jamie and These Days of Dust by Sithdragn,

Roses of Picardy by Hechicera, and

Roses of Picardy by Leyla Lovely.

Please have a look and feed back the artists. Many thanks.

    Bookmarker's Notes

John finds Sherlock's journal full of dark sadistic fantasies about him, but instead of the expected results of fear and nausea, John feels a buildup of powerful lust.

"London. I will carve my map of London into his body. The two things that are mine, that only I can know this way. Lambeth over his right kidney, Westminster up his left side. The Thames a sinuous line weaving along his spine. Yes. My map of London will become a map of him. From Ludgate Hill to Eastcheap, I’ll be cresting his thigh, and Baker Street will wrap around his left shoulder. Would have to recut periodically, as London is redrawn, so that he would always be up to date. My John."

    Bookmarker's Notes

After a freak event decimates the world's population, chaos and violence reigns. "Collectors" capture survivors and force them into slavery and the remnants of the British government stay holed up in the Enclave trying to regain some semblance of normalcy. On one of his routine scavenges around the vestiges of London, Sherlock comes upon a doctor in need of care and takes him back to the Enclave. What starts out as a tenuous friendship blossoms into something more - or so Sherlock thinks - but John's psyche is a little more damaged than Sherlock originally perceived and is still in survival mode. When a chance to find and save his sister comes out of the blue from one Colonel Moran - a spy for Moriarty stationed in the Enclave - John takes the advantage and leaves. But Sherlock won't let the only true friend he's ever had go that easily.

    Summary

This is a moment Sherlock will look back to time and again as the future stalks forward; an instance he will use to justify his actions, the decisions he will make. He'd known Moriarty was working solely for his attention, even John had recognized as much during the first assault. But Sherlock has been a fool, a dangerous, incompetent fool, because this is so far beyond all that. It always has been.

post-Pool; John and Sherlock have only just recovered from the pool and what came after but Mycroft has captured Moriarty which sets off a whole new chain of problems. Insert bouts of self-discovery, meets of the parents, a good dose of domesticity, and Lestrade up to his ears in dissonance from all sides, and you got yourself a hell of a ride.

    Summary

Sherlock is head over heels for John, but you wouldn't know it by looking at him. First-person present-tense series of short scenes from Sherlock's point of view, borrowing heavily from Arthur Conan Doyle's stories.

    Bookmarker's Notes

As soon as I started reading this fic, I was enamoured with it. The language is gorgeous and fits Sherlock perfectly. The writer uses sudden stops and punctuation to full effect and it really feels like you're inside his head. The entire thing is Sherlock POV which can be a bit difficult to write (unless you think like him?) so this is impressive. It also incorporates real emotion (especially when describing his level of love he has for John and how he's so unsure how to portray it which frustrates him) without losing the canon voice. This is definitely a fic I will revisit more than once.
