    Summary

Inquisitor Kaaras Adaar battles demons and darkspawn for purpose and profit, and he seals Fade-Rifts in his sleep. He’s a formidable battlemage and principled leader. He gives most of his earned or acquired loot away to children and beggars. He’s never lost a chess game in his adult life and can easily keep up with even Dorian Pavus’ banter and snark. He’s seven-ish feet tall, only a bit gangly, relatively non-hideous—if one happens to prefer liberally freckled and unapologetically ginger Vashoth Qunari—and can involuntarily conduct small quantities of arcane lightning between his copper-plated horns without even trying.

He’s also continually saving the world from millennia of its bewildering mistakes. He is not easily or ever cowed. So . . . why does the idea of confessing his powerful attraction and deepening feelings for the commander of the Inquisition’s military—or, Maker forbid, confessing them to the commander—frighten the bloody horns off him? Why is he increasingly certain that he’ll never be worthy enough?

    Summary

After helping to quash the first Blight in a thousand years, then being exiled from his homeland, and losing the loves of his life, Alistair Amell has moved on as best he can. He’s raising twin children on his own and trying not to dwell on the past. Unfortunately, the past is about to turn up on his doorstep, with figurative hat in hand. And bearing all the memories, regrets, and heartache—the lost love—that Alistair has become so adept at ignoring.

This first, seven-chapter fic is complete but for final editing (as of 01.17.2018) and I’ll be posting one chapter per day (through 01.23.2018). And I’ve already started the next fic in the series (smut, ahoy).

    Summary

Okay. Bear with me. This is going be a long-term series and as such, it needs a framing timeline/description of events. The author apparently has ALL THE TASTY, INTRICATE HEADCANONS, yet more keep happening to their poor, overloaded brain. The following notes, warnings, tags, and timeline are all that’s really worth info-dumping, for the moment. But this addition to this series, titled “Marvel Age Timeline” (and always, for easy reference, to be listed as the first "fic" in series’ ordering, once the actual first fic, "Neither a Guest. . . ." is completed), is hopefully helpful? Or at least marginally interesting? And proof that the author has given this mishegas some thought?

    Summary

Five times Poe Dameron serenaded Finn. Not the only five, but five that really matter :-)

NOTE (02.09.2018): This fic is NOT on hiatus. I'm currently chipping away at it in tiny-ass steps. "Tiny-ass" mostly because I didn't finish the final chapter before TLJ was scheduled to leave my local theater. So, I saw it the final night of its tenure and . . . since then, nothing I write in this story makes a damned bit of sense and my brain/heart go haywire. The ending I had planned makes less sense than thirteen o'clock. I can't tell if that's because it really doesn't fit, or because TLJ broke my head- and heart-meats so bad that until I recover from it--it's been two weeks, almost--nothing will make sense. But I'm trying. I haven't given up or forgotten, despite the loads of Dragon Age fic I'm turning out. I have to write or go nuts(er) and if the Stormpilot ain't flowin', I gotta write whatever will. Being stymied so close to the end of THIS fic, however, is . . . enraging. My stubborn and contrary nature alone will keep me chipping away, rest assured. But it may take a few more weeks :-/

NOT a holiday fic . . . but, nonetheless, in which a lonely, convenience store counter-jockey gets an “angel” for “X-Mess.” The title is all the author's doing, but the snarky quote-marks are all Dean.

    Summary

A prologue in which nothing too terribly unprecedented happens . . . a no ‘count Courier of little appreciable conscience or morals, and who specializes in moving extra-legal items, gets betrayed. Then summarily dispatched in an anonymous bit of desert, by a man with a famous name and eye-watering taste in suits.

And dying’s a stone-bitch—an infinite one, at that—but it’s also just the beginning.

    Summary

Occasionally, Imperial Magister Gereon Alexius is given firm reason to despair of his brilliant young apprentice’s puzzling tastes. Namely, after a poorly-timed arrival home leads to bearing accidental witness to one of Dorian’s myriad divertissements; a discussion of alchemical theory leads to brooding, confrontation, and revelation; and an after-supper apéritif leads to a confession . . . and heartbreak.

By the time the Elder One is defeated by the Inquisition, eleven years later, Gereon Alexius is just another old man. One with a lifetime of regrets behind him, who’s finally given up his search for lost time.

Scott “Harly” Ryder gets left at the altar. Enter an unasked-for Benedick just aching for a Beatrice. Harly obliges. Thus, begins the first day of the rest of their lives. Prompt in end notes.

And now with the correct "ADDITIONAL TAGS"! Sorry about the weird Marvel-tags that got mixed in with ME:A ones. As for Burning of the Ships at Losgar . . . I don't even know what that tag references. But the imposters have been removed and this is NOT a weird Andromeda/Marvel/Losgar(???) crossover. Thank you for your patience during this troubling time.

Dorian: That little trick, Cole, when you dip into someone's mind and take a drink?
Dorian: Do you choose what you're looking for, or is it random?
Cole: It has to be hurt, or a way to help the hurt. That's what calls me.
Cole: Rilienus, skin tan like fine whiskey, cheekbones shaded, lips curl when he smiles.
Cole: He would have said yes.
Dorian: I'll... thank you not to do that again, please.—Dragon Age: Inquisition

OR: What if, in the years before and since his association with Dorian Pavus, “Rilienus” went through a few other incarnations, as well? The final ones being, of course, Herald of Andraste and Inquisitor. What will happen when the star-crossed pair meet again during the rise of the Inquisition? How will Thedas react to an elf-blooded Inquisitor from the Tevinter Imperium? And will true love triumph over everything, even when nothing less than everything is at stake?

Yet another 5 + 1 fic. Seriously, the title says it all. Or does it? :-D

The rest is the tags and as we go, yo. Surprise pairings, with pairings tags and notes to be added with each new chapter. For this first chapter . . . an unexpected confrontation at an impolite hour, followed by the usual: A Nervous Suitor gets a brief Shovel Speech from a Big Angry Dad. And also . . . everything he’s ever wanted from his Wonderful Amazing Amatus.

    Summary

If human interaction is a form of currency, Cullen has always considered talk to be rather cheap. He is a man of action, not words, and if he’s too shy to act upon what he feels, he’ll certainly never be able to say it, either. Though, that might change, with some brotherly advice from a mercenary; some candid and unambiguous interest from the Inquisitor; an offer he’s far too flustered to do anything but refuse, and some opportunities even the most stoic, self-denying Templar can’t pass up. Plus, dessert!

    Summary

At twenty-two, Miles Parker is a talented, young illustrator whose recent, indie graphic novels are gaining in popularity. His star is ascending steadily, almost meteorically, in an industry (one of many) not known for tolerating or taking a chance on even brilliant omegas.

He’s also recently engaged—secretly, despite said fiancé’s protestations—to one of the most eligible Alphas in New York City, Harry Osborn, Jr. After nearly two years of taking things very slowly, then a sudden, but romantic proposal mere weeks ago, Miles is at last ready to move into J.R.’s penthouse. His parents, Peter and Wade Parker, couldn’t be more thrilled. The same could be said for Peter and Wade’s other children. Mostly. The twins, Ellie and Evan, and “baby” Doreen (who was adopted, just like Miles) are excited. The second oldest Parker-child—troubled, trouble-prone, particle physics prodigy Benjamin—is . . . less so. Or might be, if he hadn’t dropped quietly out of Miles’ life.

But when things with J.R. go FUBAR suddenly and cataclysmically, Benjamin’s the only Parker available to perform some much-needed rescuing. However, the trend of FUBARing continues and the unexpected just keeps on happenin’.

    Summary

In a future in which humanity has given manifest destiny a whole new angle, and spread across the silent galaxy to colonize now-untenanted worlds—and taken their wars and power-plays with them—Commander Jackson “Vanguard” Shepard is an anomaly: a discharged and retired N7 biotic who’s not shilling for the hegemonic Systems Alliance. He scrambles from month to month, from meager pension check to meager pension check, with only his big-hearted mutt Bosco for companionship and purpose.

Shep’s nothing to no one—neither hero, nor villain . . . paragon, nor renegade—just another angry, near-destitute veteran of war(s) no one wants to care about or remember in the bright dawn of an “Age of Manifest Destiny” all humanity can enjoy. He’s keeping his head down and himself to himself as best he can. He doesn’t miss or even remember the stars. Enter three deus ex machinas: a naïve, but disconcertingly gorgeous kid who looks at Shep like he’s his only hope; Shep’s former second-in-command (and former-lover) who can read him like an open book; and Shep’s batshit, former team-member, Corporal Toombs . . . the only other survivor of Akuze besides Shep. And with these three, come all their attendant troubles.

“So. You’ve been sizing me up for the better part of a fortnight—I’ll bet you know all my cleverest moves, by now—care to finally have a go?”

Startled by the familiar, almost-like-home accent—plus a faint-but-there, singsong lilt for flavor—Cullen Stanton Rutherford found himself blinking in utter shock, and looking right at the young chess-player sitting one bench over. . . .

“One's not half of two; two are halves of one.”—e. e. cummings

Or: Two relationships Captain Steve Rogers has observed from the outside, and one relationship Steve was in far too deep—and didn’t even realize—to be anything but observed.

Chapter One Summary: Sometimes, when Stark smiles, Clint forgets . . . forgets that the guy can be such a fucking asshole at a moment’s notice. And Stark . . . Stark doesn’t forget anything. He even remembers—to the minute, almost—the six month-iversary of their first time. Without Friday’s help or reminding. Steve may have thoughts on why that is, but he’s no scholar of the Human Condition and anyway, Clint’s never been one for baseless speculation.

And it’d take a lot more than Stark is capable of ever giving to make Clint think that speculation isn’t baseless.

Oscar Wilde famously said: “We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.” Had he ever met Scott Ryder, he might have worded it a bit differently. Perhaps: “Some of us are among the stars . . . and still we wallow in the gutter.”

    Something to that effect.

Or: Scott Ryder is an absolute quagmire. But Reyes Vidal isn’t sinking to bottom . . . he’s diving there, and smiling all the way down.
