Perhaps the most Canadian of AUs, and I think that's quite saying something. The humor of this is perfect. I giggled so much reading this, and so many details are just gorgeous: the warmth and wit of their dialog, their competitiveness, how quickly John forgives, how absurd everything always becomes. Wonderful.

You know what, I'm going to regret not bookmarking this and I refuse to let my future self down when I go back to look for this. The one where John tries to train Sherlock out of bad behavior by squirting him in the face with cold water. Like a cat. Fucking glorious.

Proof that sometimes one's patience is rewarded. This fic took four years to finish, but I thought it was an amazing ride even before it left off, and it was amazing when it finished. One of the most beautiful magical bits of worldbuilding I've read in this fandom ever. The magic of Old London is simply one of my favorite depictions of magic. A really lovely bit of storytelling and very overdue for bookmarking.

    (Not a Sherlock bookmark, friends.)

A really lovely back-and-forth POV story, with admirably high verisimilitude for early Meiji era historical details (although what do I know) and characterization (although in this AU Kenshin does kill people when necessary, so none of that pathos from the canon), with great plot and feels and sexytimes. Also notable: an admirable feminism throughout in the characters (and relationship) that matter -- and the sex -- which isn't obvious from the historical era or arranged marriage AU.

Oh holy hell, you guys. This is a fabulous universe and written so very deliciously. Some of the hottest fic I've read in ages and ages.
