Summary
The tongue is a muscle found on the floor of the mouth, primarily used for the sense of taste, secondary function phonetic articulation. It is covered in taste buds on top, and liberally supplied in nerves and blood vessels. It is commonly, though not entirely plausibly, referred to as the strongest muscle in the human body, and half the time, Sherlock Holmes is convinced that, unless they've bitten it or tasted a particularly orgasmic piece of food, the human race takes the tongue entirely for granted.

From the moment John Watson walks past Mike Stamford in the park, his decisions spin countless of parallel worlds, parallel lives, where things could have gone differently with Sherlock Holmes. But the reality of it is that he only has this one, and there is no changing that.

Summary
While Coulson's recovering from being stabbed in the chest by a magical spear, Fury is rapidly running out of Agents willing to play babysitter for the newly founded Avengers. So he calls in Captain John Watson, late of the British Royal Army, and blogger and best friend to the infamously antisocial (presumably deceased) Sherlock Holmes. In hindsight he's not sure if this was a good call or a very, very bad one.
Post-Reichenbach-reunion combined with Coulson-lives, partly because I like looking at cliches from different fandoms, sticking them in one fic and going "now kiss!". Mostly because has anyone else noticed how similar John Watson and Phil Coulson are?
