  Summary

  Like any good British boy, Arthur had grown up on the movies, the sit-coms, and the dime store novels (or maybe just the TV dramas of the dime store novels) about the average young man or woman being contacted one day by a stuffy lawyer with news of the passing of an aged, extended relative who left some sort of huge, previously unknown inheritance. So, of course, when a Mr. Gerard Legrace, of Legrace and Campbell, appeared on his doorstep to tell him about his great uncle Lord Pendragon and to have him sign this form, please, Arthur burst out laughing.

  At first, Hijiri really wasn't lying to Naoki. Not completely, anyway. He was investigating the Terminals, Hikawa, the Conception, the Maiden -- everything that he said. His motivations were what he said they were. If, beneath everything, he had another motivation to simply know, he didn't see how that went against anything that he'd told the almost-human, almost-demon, but neither, boy.

  Summary

  For a reason that Touya has never fully understood, everything looks more beautiful under the soft, golden halo of Christmas lights. In a dark house, with nothing but the tree illuminated, it ought to be the same sort of dark that one lamp in a room creates: shadowy and solemn, with one spot of light. Somehow, it's not. The Christmas lights aren't any brighter than that one lamp; they don't send their soft glow over any more space.
