The sunlight, when it comes, is welcome; Komaeda gazes at it, the faint new line it has drawn on the floorboards, places himself in the world by the mark it has made. It is just bright enough to persuade his eyes to stay open, just beautiful enough to divert his attention from the ache of immobility in his shoulders and arms. He’s fortunate like that, even now!
(In which Komaeda dislikes being tied up -- not that he can properly admit it.)
