    Summary

    Time Traveler's Wife fusion.

It’s hard to keep track of all these different Sherlocks at different ages. It seems like just last week he was convincing a seven year old Sherlock to smile because it was his birthday and then fighting the awkwardness of him asking if John was married in the future.

Probably because it was just last week for him. Fucking time travel.

    Summary

In a different time, a more naive time, Sherlock thought he was the star and John the satellite, circling him in worshipful orbit. He knows now that was never true. John was always the sun, bright and fierce, and Sherlock was the pale, cold moon, his only heat coming from the light he reflected.

And then his sun went into supernova. Moriarty said he would burn him and he has, and John is the fire, his rage and grief incinerating Sherlock, burning the heart out of him in the end, turning him into nothing but cinder and ash. And now the supernova is collapsing, a black hole born where there was once warmth and heat and love, and Sherlock is being pulled down, down past the event horizon, into the endless frozen void where nothing can ever escape.

    Summary

I am doing this to put the whole “but she didn’t mean to kill him” to rest because I don’t believe anyone can actually make that statement without first being full informed. So I am going to attempt to fully inform you, to the best of my medical abilities, and then I don’t ever have to see that comment on my dash ever again until the new series airs and we finally find out the truth of intents and what not.

    Summary

"On cue, your hands drift down of their own accord, ghosting over your bare torso. Fingertips prod at protruding ribs and lean, wiry muscle. The bedside lamp doesn’t provide much light, but if you turn just so you can make out most of the marks marring your skin in the floor-length mirror against the wall. The worst ones stand out sharply on your abdomen and back; still pink and jagged, even after all this time. They are the biggest burns and deepest cuts, and they will take the longest to fade."

Sherlock returns a different man to the one who left, in more ways than one, and learns that sometimes there may be no going back.

    Summary

Sherlock skids down the last few steps, the unfamiliar rubber tread of the trainers gripping the stairs more than his usual leather soled shoes. He wants to run. He wants to chase something, someone. He wants to jump out of his own skin and never return. He wants to race to John Watson’s pathetic flat in Southwark and demand he come home. He wants to grab John by the arm and physically haul him out into the fray of crime scenes and gunmen, out into the real world, where he belongs at Sherlock’s side.
