They'd been working on the touching thing. On the letting-other-people-touch thing. It just took Bruce awhile to get to a place where he could.

Finding A New Home is a lively Harry Potter/Stargate fusion that works, & reads, really well. I love Severus & Harry as pissed-off/disillusioned warriors who want a new life, including with each other (once they get on the same page), & who still protect each other instinctively no matter where in the galaxies they are. Of course Harry & Severus would want some meaningful work after they recover from the war, especially if they can defend their home planet & Atlantis (& Harry can indulge his inner sci-fi fanboy ;-). Sev has a wonderful attitude, for all he's been through--though I guess those experiences taught him the value of effective, efficient & practical. It's lovely that Harry insists on Severus being addressed as Professor too, so the Muggles acknowlege his talent & accomplishments.

Who protected part of Stargate Command years ago with runes (which closely resemble Ancient) & magical wards but prevented Walter, the resident wizard (of course!), from speaking about them? How is magic related to the ATA gene, such that Carson Beckett's gene treatment seems to always succeed on wizards? Why is Sheppard a Squib (as the wizarding world would call him) but magically intuitive, while O'Neill is something magical (no one knows exactly what)? And is there anything more natural than Rodney McKay as a wizard (of course!!) who insists on teaching Harry & Severus about AC Clarke & his Law? Finding A New Home leaves many questions unanswered but it does resolve Harry & Severus's relationship nicely & end at a natural break in the story.

The second, much shorter fic in this series actually inspired the first one, & features the Trouble-Magnet Twins: Daniel Jackson & Harry Potter. Double, Double, Toil and Trouble describes a dangerous scene that's only mentioned in passing in Finding A New Home; I can definitely see how the ficlet could inspire a longer one to explain how the situation came to be. I can also imagine Severus & Jack having a dry-witted snarkfest about whose younger companion was more dangerous to himself & others (and, if they ever became well-acquainted, arguing about who's the bigger cradle-robber ;-).

I'm gleefully grateful for what Goddess47 has already written but I'm Subscribed to this series in case another plot bunny sneaks in past the wards to pesker her. <3

A great transformation/inner-self-made-visible 'verse, with Clint & Phil finally getting together as the icing on the-- er... feathers? After Loki makes magical mischief the Avengers (except Thor, who isn't affected) are uncomfortable with their "animal traits" -- except for Clint. Becoming part red-tailed hawk seems to make Clint more him; he thinks of the hawk characteristics as a manifestation of his spirit animal, & enjoys the advantages of the physical changes. Phil keeps him close company while the other Avengers return to "normal" & he sees why Clint wants to keep his "hawkness". However, Phil's not convinced that Clint's fit for missions again until they hunt a single bad guy together & he sees how the hawk's bloodthirstiness affects Clint. Soon he learns how his own nature makes him (both original & transformed) Clint's match.

The sequel ficlet, Annual, is so tender! In general Phil doesn't strike me as the crafty type, but I can totally buy that he'd learn arrow-making & fletching to commemorate Clint's first feathers. (I can imagine Phil as the experienced, cunning warrior & armoror in days of yore, with smith!Tony to invent & fabricate fantastical weapons to accomplish Phil's strategies.) I also love one commenter's idea that the feathers might be infused with magic, making them "Loki-hunting arrows". In many magical systems that transference would make perfect sense; & the "foe who can only be defeated with his own magic" trope is as venerable as they get.

I really hope that infiniteeight gets another plot bunny in this 'verse one day. I'd certainly be among the crowd to rush to read it!

Spock walks in on a conversation between Kirk and Uhura regarding Vulcan dirty talk.

Written for a Star Trek kink meme but I forget which one; I think the prompt was for Spock talking dirty, and mindmeld!speak.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Whew! ~ :: fans self with ponytail :: ~ This is seriously hot! There's nothing more devastating than aural sex with a passionate genius... & that doesn't even consider the "direct transfer" of memories & sensations possible through a mind-meld. Kirk really should realize by now (1) he should never underestimate Spock's abilities, & (2) that--as Spock said--it's unwise to refuse Uhura's assessment. (Uhura tells Kirk that Spock's great at dirty talk & Kirk scoffs at the idea. He's lucky they find redeeming qualities in him somewhere....)

Concise reminds me of old-school K/S slash written about ST:TOS, except for the very last line. It's smart & raunchy in a suggestive rather than explicit way, tho' it certainly doesn't shy away from certain details for versimilitude. But the heart of it is the way the characters care for each other, in whatever ways they're able to, & try to understand how the others show love.

    Bookmarker's Notes

ZOMG, this is the "Tony has a kink for things he makes" fic I've always been looking for... & it's more loving & tender & first-kiss-sexy than raunchy! ~o_0``
IMO that's quite an achievement when Tony & Jarvis' "encounters" are so wicked hot, not to mention entirely kinky by most people's definitions. Pepper is also part of Jarvis' evolution & their nascent relationship but not physically involved in any way; it's all Tony/Jarvis in all their sarcastic, smug, competitive glory. <3

The beauty is, though, that Tony & Pepper are the sorts of people & Jarvis is the sort of one-in-a-billion construct/entity that so much of this story is about self-definitions & universal emotions & non-sexual connections. I mean, Tony has his fingerprints all over it so of course it's sensual & sexual to an extent. But it's also about how all three of them changed during & after Tony's capture & return, & how they each feel they can only show the fears & vulnerabilities behind those changes to another one in the trio. Lots of other people may know the bare facts of what happened & what they're doing but, without the emotional connections involved, it's literally impossible to understand parts of it.

Plus, y'know, the images of Tony writhing & desperate without a hand being laid on him, or Jarvis aroused & brought over the edge as much by intentions & words as by his perceptions of touch, are so, sooo pretty! Pepper is just full of moral fiber not to want to perv on that.... ;->
