  1. Summary

So, I had this thought. I was considering rewatching the show for the umpteenth million time because it’s been a few years since I’ve seen it.

Now most people who do that will write reviews or share thoughts they’ve had as they watched. That’s the pattern I’ve noticed. And I could do that, but—

I believe that there’s at least one short story in every episode. I think we’ve proven that time and again as a community. Instead of reviewing, I’m going to play with that. I have plot seeds for the first three episodes. From there, I won’t guarantee anything, but I’ll try to squeeze in more as I find the time.

I’m not sure how far I’ll get. Realistically, there are 144 episodes, I’ll be happy if I pull one full season’s worth of short fiction out of this project: that is 22 stories. I don’t want it to hinder my watching of the show and it has been. That kind of sucks, so I’ll probably be making notes as I go. I should be able to pick something from the basket every week or two and play.

    We’ll see.

  2. Summary

Funny how things can start one place and end up in another. The initial idea was to create a P.W.P. series similar to On Occasions by Mad Hamlet, Kirayoshi and Shyfox.

This series went into limbo, was resurrected and grew a plot. You’d think that a plot would make it feel more sensey, but this plot has turned the story into a series of seemingly random encounters. Each one reads like an emotional challenge. Show me anger, show me grief, show me confusion…and do that within the confines of a scene involving a sexual encounter.

The first three stories are actually pretty tame. They have a nice linear progression in Season Four, but from there everything goes to Hell.

Whedonist , or 1shinyboat as she’s known on LiveJournal, and I are working this project as a team.

  3. Summary

My very first pieces of fiction were part of a series called Thirteen Steps. Naturally, as the author and a somewhat freakishly compulsive perfectionist, I view them as pretty much complete crap now. But there was something about them. Other people didn’t see them as crap. They encouraged me.

    And here I am.

Sometimes I wish I was one of those people who could just do something and not overthink it.

I’m not. I dwell on everything.

    Notes

A novel length piece that doesn't languish or falter in quality. Well arranged, executed and composed. Nicely done.

Mirabelle has layers, a past shaped by her mother, a past that will shape her future with her own daughter.

Come, smile with Mirabelle, as she makes her way through life, always happy.

    Always.

Very nice original work. I actually tried to encourage Tam to find a publisher, but she was just as happy doing this. Our win, I say.
