Summary
It’s dark and he almost slips when he follows the siren's voice until the water is up to his neck because she wants him, she wants him and he’s lonely, and her calling is like a relief and this might just be worth drowning for. He punches Boyd in the face when he pulls him out of the water, sputtering and coughing and yelling because he wants to go back, because nobody else wants him, don’t they fucking understand that?

This is also why he finds himself at least a bit confused when he starts noticing that, well, people don’t really like him that much. It sounds a little self-glorifying, but he’s always figured there had to be someone who’d like him-like him, however first grade it sounds, because he’s actually quite likable, once you get to know him.

Derek scowls and backs away, because Derek's life is going to change and he needs to be ready for it. There needs to be hammering and sawing in his house, and furniture, and money needs to be moved around, from one place to a different place. Derek doesn't have the faintest idea what, specifically, he will do to prepare for this new portion of their lives, but he must prepare now, or risk being—well, unprepared. "Good," he says, determined to prepare. "This—yes." Must prepare.

Summary
Stiles was prepared for what would come after the bite. He knew what to expect and, despite his worries, he was ready for his new life. Apparently very ready. Or, “that one where Stiles can’t be anything other than Stiles, even when he’s a wolf."

stiles first shift goes better than expected.
Stiles took a deep breath. “Okay. Okay so, what now? Will I know when it’s about to happen? Will I tear through my clothes? Should I strip? I wasn’t kidding, you know, I do think this is a bit unsanitary, especially if I’m going to be naked.”
“No stripping,” Derek interrupted.
Stiles was undeterred. “No stripping now or no stripping at all? Cause I can really get on board with the stripping if it’s at a later date and somewhere else. Preferably somewhere with a bed.” He sidled up close to Derek and waggled his eyebrows.

Summary
“I know, right?” Stiles gestures helplessly at the steadfast pillar of stupidity currently gracing the backyard. “I swear, he called me out like the OK Corral. It was awesome.”

“Oh god, it hurts, it hurts to laugh.” And it does, it really does, but it’s okay because he’s laughing so hard it feels like he’s about to split in half, just burst at the seams because he’s so happy he can’t hold it in, and Derek is grinning, really grinning, down at him and leaning against him and it’s good. He’s been shot, but it’s good. “Please tell me you didn’t call 911.” Cell Phone Kid looks vaguely guilty. “Oh my god, you did. You shot me and you called 911, this is literally the best day of my life.”
Captain Crazy clears his throat nervously. “Abominati-”
(three teenage hunters shoot (graze!) a completely uncaring Stiles and Derek just laughs)
