    Bookmarker's Notes

    Excellent

Wow, this deserves the descriptor of "epic," namely a story that drops you into the middle of a plot, and explains and reveals that plot through the course of the adventure in the story. A rare treat, epics are hard to write and difficult to find, and often lack in quality!

I freely praise the author's characterization and plot build, as both were excellent. A very interesting plot, I've not read anything like it before, which was very nice. Characterization was solid (although I wish there had been just a little less of the beautiful agony, but it made sense in the context of the story, so no biggie). The slow build was great, and the author deserves ALL the praise for the first book of the story, which is an amazing setup. SPOILER: in particular, the way the author achieved making Heero into a completely new character (Jack), while still retaining enough of himself to be recognizable, was outstanding. Seriously, kudos to you, author!

I had only two major critiques, and the first is the writing itself, which needs to be edited for serious. Obviously, the author can write very well, but this just needs to be cleaned up badly. A few typos, some misspelled words, and a buttload of weirdly constructed sentences that need to be streamlined, but otherwise excellent writing. The second is that the story really needed another 10k words of follow-up explanation, despite already being 100k words. I had a "wait, this is the end, seriously there's no more?" type reaction at the end, as it is a little abrupt, and left me with a number of unanswered questions. The story does wrap up neatly, but not completely, at least not for me : )

Overall, the bones of this are fabulous, and it was an extremely enjoyable read - with some editing and a little more follow-up, this could easily be re-rated as outstanding! Excellent work, kudos to the author!

    Good

Really like this author's work, wish sincerely that there was more of it! Not an excellent rating, simply because it was so short there wasn't much of a chance for it to earn it. Writing was good, only one tense change; characterization was good; plot was convenient but entertaining. Overall, cute, and worth another read come the holiday season : )

    Good

I liked this a lot! Solid writing (although they still need an editor), interesting character introspection on the world and the future - not much in the way of "plot" but that wasn't the point : ) Would like to see more from this author, something a little longer and more plotty.

    Bookmarker's Notes

    Good

A nice, simple follow-up to the previous story. Also needed minor editing, and was too short to really have a lot of introspection, but I enjoyed what was there. Allayed some of the bittersweet flavor left over from the first story : )

    Bookmarker's Notes

    Good

I wanted to give this an excellent, but it needs some TLC in the editing department : ) There are consistent tense changes that need correcting, and in a few cases some awkward homonyms that really need correction. I really enjoyed the character introspection, though, along with the world observation - this is truly one of the best DBZ fics I've read in a while! Wish the author had added the tag "bittersweet" though :/

Would really enjoy seeing more of this pairing (V/G) from this author.

    Decent

Not the best GW story I've ever read, but it definitely made me smile : ) I enjoyed the humor and the turn of phrase. Needed and editor for grammar and characterization to be considered really good, though - the bones were there, just needed some editing!

If someone had told Stiles back in high school that he would be an Oscar winning actor by the time he turned 25, he would’ve probably told Scott to punch them. The thing is, though…they would’ve been right.

Which makes returning to Beacon Hills, center of all that is supernatural and better left avoided, all the more awkward.

    Bookmarker's Notes

    Excellent

Very, very close to giving this an outstanding, and after I've read it again I might change my mind... we'll see : )

Overall, I loved this fic. Normally, I don't go for actor AU (with the exception of MadLori's Performance in a Leading Role) or AU at all in Teen Wolf (I really like the setup of the show, and I'm most interested in fics set mostly-in-canon right now), but given that this is a future fic I decided to give it a try. Very glad I did!

Solid, excellent idea for a possible future: great characterization, with everyone in character more or less, which is a plus (and an achievement since most all the characters were present): writing was truly excellent, they have a great beta or are really good at editing their own work: interesting plot, although this is the only place where I would have liked to see a little more development (not that it wasn't well fleshed, I just was waiting for a little something more, and it didn't come): really liked the Stiles in this, and I LOVED the meta-ish interview interludes - I love that kind of addition in fanfiction : )

One nitpicky pet peeve: Scott in this is a veterinarian, which I ADORE (if I wrote fic for this, that would be the career I'd put him in), but unfortunately he's either the youngest vet ever, or the author didn't research the veterinary career much. I have researched it a great deal, as it is a career path I'm currently exploring. Vet school takes at least four years if you're going to attend a quality school (I don't know of any DVM programs shorter than four years), and you can't get into school without a bachelors degree of some kind. So, if we're assuming Scott and Stiles began university at 18, like most people, they would have completed their BA's around 22. IF Scott got accepted on his first attempt (on average, most students get accepted on their third attempt, depending upon the school they are attempting to get into), he'd be 26 by the time he finished, a year older than he is at the start of the fic.

Now, the author might have lampshaded this in a couple of ways: Scott could be doing an internship or externship in BH, and not yet be a licensed vet (not likely, since the author specifically calls him a vet, and if I'm remembering correctly from my reading infers that the clinic is now Scott's?), or he might have done some kind of running start program in high school, finished his BA early, and gotten accepted his first try, and graduated at 24 instead, a year before the story begins. Neither of these explanations (or a different) are provided, though, so... *shrug*

This gets a major thumbs up, though - a truly excellent fic that I would recommend anyone read! Looking forward to reading the sequel, and more by this author.

    Bookmarker's Notes

    Outstanding

Wavered between an excellent and outstanding, and finally went with the latter. This isn't my favorite Stiles or Derek characterization, but that's simply personal: the characterizations are consistent, excellent, and compelling, so kudos to the author : )

Loved the plot, all around, the writing was superb, the character interactions were extremely realistic (loved the Stiles-Scott interactions!), overall just really excellent. Warning, it does earn it's bittersweet tag honestly, and it has a TWISTY TWIST that I was not expecting, which is rare for me anymore, so that was a very pleasant surprise : )

Also, very hot - one of my favorite kinks done well! : D

Recommended for anyone interested in kid fic and this pairing, for sure - a really nicely done fic.
