Summary
"Are you threatening me? Because of a youthful dalliance? A few weeks of madness in a London Season?" Said the Duke of Crowborough to Thomas Barrow. This is a story of what might have happened in those weeks of madness and why the ended the way the ended.
Thomas Barrow is no fool. He knows who he is, he knows what that makes him, and he knows what he can get. He has learned to live the life he's been dealt and he doesn't seek out what he can't have. And he's fine, really.
But sometimes something good comes along and the hope of not dying alone, the possibility of being loved wins over common sense. Happens to the best. And when Thomas meets the Duke of Crowborough, it happens to him.

Summary
“I squeezed his arm. It would be the worst mistake in my then short career in the British Government, losing me our good nation's trust, invaluable secret information and nearly costing me my job. This is not a story, not a memoire, it's a confession and one that will not be included in the files to be read fifty years after my death.”
Mycroft will always wear that ring, as a reminder of this and final proof that caring is never an advantage.
A little ring story, something that might have happened. From Mycroft's POV, no romance, no sentimentalisation. Because it's Mycroft.

"Fear is those fifteen minutes in the morning I need every day to recall who I am. Not where I am, or what day it is, these matters are easily forgotten and should cause no dread on my behalf. No, I forget who I am..."

Summary
"He sits patiently on a chair in the research lab of St. Bart’s, absently leafing through a book on chemical science. "
Mycroft meets with Sherlock after the fall, as planned. Short missing scene, or at least a take on a scene I hope we'll see next season. It's just a bit of the Holmes brother being Holmeses and Mycroft being part of the plot. I believe in Mycroft Holmes as much as I believe in Sherlock Holmes.

Summary
"It’s just a keystroke. Nowadays, that’s all it takes. The pressing down of a black plastic rectangular shaped block. ‘Enter’; sounds almost inviting. ‘Accept’; is almost cheerful. Pushing down a key is less than a second’s work. Simple. Effective."
A shortish drabble of one man and the power he holds in Government. At the stroke of a key.
