A Beauty and the Beast AU (I know, I know, but hear me out)
Set in a world only vaguely akin to Earth-616 in the 1600s. Steampunk with no steam, dialed back 200 years, with technology advanced by practical magic and the Marvel "Age of Heroes" from Marvel 1602. Historical accuracy: do not expect much of it.Advanced human magecraft was a dying art when Anthony's father was born, but magic itself is far from dead and gone. The Stark family always had a bit of the gift, and Howard Stark used it in conjunction with scientific genius to bring strange and wondrous things into the world, and his son inherited that same legacy. Anthony's story is familiar to you: the attempted assassination, the kidnapping, the escape and the betrayal. Old Norse gods make their reappearance among men, and one of them has an army and possibly an overdeveloped sense of vengeance. The story carries on from there.
