    Summary

Beca is an up and coming producer, Chloe Beale is pop’s newest princess. This is the story of how they fall in love.

"Beca Mitchell, producer of just-barely-notable-but-growing-in-notoriety songs like “Lightning Street” by Albion Avalon and “Esorcus” by Palindromes, is a bit of a mystery player. When you Google her name, you’ll see her production credits on Snoop Dogg’s Christmas CD, and a few other major artists from her time with Residual Heat. You’ll see a few grainy clips of her DJing at some of the hottest L.A. clubs, showing off a flare for that perfect fade from one song to another over a thumping and heavy bass. You’ll even find a few of those mixes perfected into glorious mash-ups that hipsters the world over crave."

"The Billboard Hot 100 chart’s record for most number-one singles from one album to appear is five, shared by Katy Perry and Michael Jackson. The song playing on the radio as Chloe Beale sits down for an interview in Chicago, just before she blows the doors off the at-capacity United Center, is Beale’s fourth from her second album, Cotillion."

A fun little sorta-AU that does some cute stuff with a social media concept, but just generally develops a relationship, with ups and downs, well which I guess I've been missing.

The Circle, in its times apart and together. Even so many years later, their bond always draws me in, and this is a wonderful painting of it.

With no enemies left to fight, Minako Aino sets her sights on her greatest challenge: the lonely hearts of her best friends. Over a single summer, can she nurture the love she knows is there, and maybe have some fun along the way? And will they dance to the tune she plays, or will the puppet-master be caught up in her own strings? Fluff! Smut! Drama!

Good character work is part of good smut: it's still rare to get excellent extended character scenes as well as that on-going, well-written porn, and for the package to still hold together as tightly as it does here. I appreciate it.

For Teddy Lupin, Harry Potter would become a Dark Lord. For Teddy Lupin, Harry Potter would take down the Ministry or die trying. He should have known that Hermione and Ron wouldn't let him do it alone.

    Bookmarker's Notes

Not one of my bookmarks with which I have no issues, but I think it would be asking a bit much to get 140,000 words entirely to my taste.

Powerful emotional work, and good use of shades of grey - going, perhaps, darker than what much of this benighted fandom tends to call 'grey' in reference to Harry, while giving it a vastly more believable and justifiable underpinning than teenage angst worked out on a page as pure, callous brutality. One is always left to wonder if the Foundation and the real political process just maybe could still have worked.
