Summary
Tony never became Iron Man – or an Avenger – but the Avengers were still put together to save the world from Loki. After the first battle the Avengers begin to receive help from an unknown source, guiding them during missions and in some cases keeping the team together. Fury wants the culprit caught while Steve feels they should thank him instead of putting him behind bars.
Written for: In response to taricalmcacil’s prompt in Cap/Iron Man 2013 Gift Exchange (LJ): “Tony was rescued before he built the suit in IM1 and never became Iron Man. When the Avengers become a team he eventually starts tracking their battles via satellite and hacking their comms to give them direction. Steve finds himself falling for the voice that keeps them out of harms way.”

Summary
Steve is untrusting, Tony's a drunk, Logan's a cynic, Fury's a liar.
And that's how it starts, but like any living thing, this story evolves. Trust grows, sobriety happens, there is truth in lies-- and Logan... well, even a cynic can have his loyalties redefined. (Also Tony gets into a lot of trouble. Things just seem to happen to him.)
The Avengers Assemble in an entirely different way from The Avengers movie. Story starts with Captain America declining to work for Fury and meeting Tony Stark who had also refused the Avengers Initiative, and among other things, co-owns a bar, the Iron Wolverine, with Logan. Lots of Marvel characters join as Iron Wolverines. (In fact the story merges & adapts elements from the Movie verse Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Iron Man 1 and 2 and The Avengers, as well as comics verse & maybe a tiny hint of X-Men First Class.) There's plot and some angst, and sneakiness going on behind the scenes, aiming for an ending I'm pretty sure Marvel will never film.

When Tony Stark was seventeen years old, he built his first AI. On that day, he ceased to be his father's creation, and became a creating force in his own right.
That one act likely saved his life, and not always in the most obvious ways.

I am left inarticulate in the wake of this incredible fic. One of my favorite fics of all time (and I've had 14 years of online fandom). All the freaking AI feels. And Tony. Everyone, really. So many emotions, it's a damn rollercoaster filled constantly with humor and heartache and love. This will forever be my head-canon for Dummy.

Pre-series AU, Alternating POV. Nearly 9 years after Dean's little brother ran away, Dean walks into the Roadhouse for the first time. He's taken by surprise at the sight of Sam, now an adult, acting like a brother to a blond named Jo, and calling the bar's owner, Ellen, "Mom". Sam looks terrified to see him and the shot gun Ellen trains on Dean's chest leaves him angry and confused when all he wants to do is grab his brother into a hug and never let him out of his sight again. And soon, Dean will find out the truth behind why and how Sam left them 8 years ago.

Summary
Sam has an imaginary friend from a young age, in fact, it's his only friend. He is withdrawn and shy around anyone that isn't his dad or Dean. When he's fourteen, John comes to the conclusion Sam is ill in a way that John can't fix and has to send him to an institute for 'disturbed youth'. However, Dean isn’t entirely convinced that Lo is as imaginary as everyone assumes.
