Summary
When Art Mumby visits his sister Myrtle in London, little does he know what will come of it. Plumbing the darkness in the heart of Man is almost enough to make one wish that one was back battling giant spiders and intelligent top hats again ....

OH MY GOD. This reads like the source text, full of everything I loved from Larklight and Starcross, marvelous and rich and hilarious. BELATED UPDATE: also it is better to read this as the sequel to Starcross since Mothstorm was A HUGE, PULSING DISAPPOINTMENT. This story is so canon for me now. SO CANON.

Summary
The story of how Eames and Arthur meet is one of the great legends of the dream-sharing profession.
In it, there's a dark alley, a foreign country, a bar, a punch in the face, a loaded die, a poker chip, a three-piece suit, and a kiss. Not necessarily in that order. And not necessarily all the time.

Sets up a lovely backstory for Arthur and Eames and the ways they guard the secret of the their true first meeting. The bit with the totems is just brilliant. <3

Notes
This story is so neat and combines two very different stories into one super fun romp through legend, natural dreams and lucid dreams. Arthur has a secret, makes a mistake and Eames can't stop having sex dreams featuring him, which leads to problems and a strange kind of love story. Very creative. <3

Sequel to Allowed. Already gorgeous and heart-wrenching, with a fascinating heist and dream-meta. I love how Dana writes them so in love, always in love. ♥

Please come over so you can fuck me is about as far from a typical Arthur text message as one can be. Eames reads it, reads it again, then double-checks the sender. Still Arthur.

Ostensibly porn, but really, really hot porn that manages to be both scorching and heartwarming at the same time, sweet in what them doing this with each other means in the grand scheme, filthy and awesome but filthy only with each other. <3 <3 /pathetically OTP

This is the first story like this I have ever read and it was just pitch-perfect and fascinating. Eames is asexual and Arthur isn't and this is a tiny piece of their love story.

A sweet story where they travel the world together and Eames slowly falls in love with Arthur without realizing what's actually going on and then he does and it's love~~~

The prompt was "Transformation stuff - Laurence and Temeraire discover some sort of magic plot device artifact which allows them to change from human to dragon, or the other way around, or both. Sexytimes ensue, obviously." Totally ran with that last bit.

Oh, man, you think there's no way you would read something like this because it couldn't be done, then someone DOES IT and your brain falls out from the sheer epic WIN as well as the WTF and you are kind of demanding sequels in your brain. ;_; Of course, by "kind of" you mean "definitely". *flail*

Definitely meant to be over-the-top comedy and does the job well: funny and insightful and ridiculous in all the right ways. The hottest part of the story for me was the t-shirt and poker bits, which says something about my preferences.

OH MY GOD THIS IS THE BEST EVER. I am not hiding the fact I am MISERABLE about finishing the semester and going back to work, but JFC I read this story and I REMEMBERED why I wanted so badly to be trained at Starbucks and learn all the in's and out's because I was so tired of not having regulars and it made me so jealous to watch the Starbucks folks make friends and meet interesting people with awesome stories. THIS STORY REMINDED ME OF THAT, how even when the day sucked a regular could come in and I could make them a delicious drink and they would entertain me and cheer me up. THIS IS NOT EVEN ABOUT THE STORY, which is also PERFECT, realizing that you can do whatever you want, and work doesn't have to be WORK and oh my gosh, I just hurt for Arthur even after he kept pushing himself and oh I was HEARTBROKEN and wanted to hug him and wanted EAMES to hug him. And EAMES, oh my gosh, I now have like a bar set up: BE AS AWESOME A BARISTA AS EAMES IN THIS FIC. *flails madly*

I have read this several times and every single time I enjoy it more. It just keeps unfolding, and seriously I thought forever what to say about BUT EVERYTHING SEEMED TOO MUCH AND TOO LITTLE. There are so many things I want to QUOTE, just gorgeous, lush lines. The contrasts, light/dark and the BIRD and the exchanges that happen, and I honestly reached the part with the rain and just gibbered all over myself. Limbo fic sometimes makes me sad, but oh, this just the exact opposite, buoying me up even before the fall, so really, it wasn't like falling at all.

Notes
This is Christmas fic. It is totally January and I don't care. I feel the need to be upfront! This story is sweet and gorgeous and pinging with feelings and well, Christmas fic. I was still left a little teary and hurty at the end, the bittersweet snap to the finale good but it still left me aching with all the time Eames spent alone and hurting for Arthur in all his uncertainty. And that's what it's meant to do to, god, Renay, you are such a wimp. It builds this complicated relationship over time in just the right way. It wouldn't feel right if it didn't end the way it did, and yet—! Whenever I reread this I always imagine up the reunion scenarios in my head, like, to make is easier for my poor heart to take, to bridge the gap between cold kisses and coming home. I love this story for being so soft and then so sharp I nearly perished from it.

What were you like as a kid?” Eames asks him.
“Quiet,” Arthur says. “I lived in my head a lot. You?”
“I did too,” Eames replies. “Only I was never quiet about it.”A story about growing up, sort of.

I don't really know Calvin & Hobbes except for a strip here and there and what I've picked up over the years having friends who grew up with it and loved it, but this was gorgeous and wistful and so, so (bittersweet). The scene with Hobbes!

I am in LOVE with this. There are scenes in this that cut to the bone with the perfection of the sparse, subtle writing and all the affection that comes across in the narrative. I wish I could use show versus tell as well as this, because if I were shown much more my HEART would explode.

Notes
Oh, kissing fic! Writing kissing is hard, especially (or it would be if I tried to build an entire sexy story around it) when an entire story is premised on the kissing itself, the building up and the act of and the follow through. Probably like everyone else, my favorite line is toward the end and it sort of came out of nowhere for me when I read this story the first time and even though I know it's coming on every reread I am go oh oh and my heart goes all clenchy (let's be clear: I have read this story a lot of times). I still go back to it whenever I need to be cheered up! That is the kind of story this is. :D

Baralai's timing couldn't have been better; they'd just preached hope and unity to the people of Spira, and the leaders of the Machine Faction and New Yevon getting into an argument would obviously do that message a lot of good. [Spoilers for the entire game.]
