Summary
For both the human soldier and the gukuy warrior, struggling with emotions proved tougher than battling vast cannibal hordes. It was a pity that gaining the weapons they so desperately needed would demand more prowess with the former kind of skirmishing than the latter.

Rec 11
Summary
"You know," Toby said, pulling a cigar out of his inside coat pocket and regarding it thoughtfully, "I never found your relationship with Donna particularly baffling. I just figured you ran on sexual frustration like the rest of us."

Notes
The dialogue is sparkling, the plot amusing, the characterization felt dead-on, and the scene in front of the mural made me smile. with. pure. joy. Seriously, smile with pure joy. What's not to like here?

Notes
This story is not only a fine romance but so brilliantly, hilariously dead-on about one of the worst plagues of corporate life that I can't decide which aspect of the story is better. Also, +5 banter of wackiness!

Notes
This one's sweet but tangy in the way of one of those candy bars that mixes excellent chocolate with something uncommon like cayenne or ginger to create a result that's unexpected but still very tasty.

Rec 15
Summary
While I do enjoy tickling the ivories for hours at a time, and have occasionally fancied that a bit of tricky finger-work was carried out so adeptly as to bring the house down, this was in the way of being a metaphor.

Notes
Good take on a classic trope; sweet and mellow without goop or glop.
