Summary
This is just a linking of my two contiguous XMFC fics: All Along the Watchtower, which takes place during and immediately after the movie and Education or Why Cerebro was Built by Hippies which follows that and has its own plot. Both focus heavily on the relationship between Charles and Erik as they both struggle to live according to their personal moral codes. Also, pot and mice.

The alternate title to this story is, ‘How Pepper Got Her Groove Back (Not That She Ever Lost It To Begin With): A Story in Cocktails’: In which Pepper rules Stark Industries with an iron first in between drink breaks, there is way higher than Level Seven clearance at SHIELD but Phil trusts her with a lot more than that, and the Avengers really have no idea how much work has to be done to keep them afloat when it doesn't directly involve explosions.

And yet most of it had been based on silent communication and a mutual - what, exactly? - before the other day, when... “Clint,” said Bruce, and it felt odd to say his name. “Would you like to go see the movie about the Scottish-”
“Oh, Brave?” Clint said, trying to be nonchalant. “Yeah, if you don’t...I mean, it’s a kids movie, but it’s...”
After the events in On Nesting, Bruce and Clint's bond continues to develop - and Bruce struggles with how to deal with his attraction to Clint so soon after Coulson's death.
