In an attempt to get the Arkenstone back for Thorin, Bilbo discovers the ring he's been using is the One Ring. Seized by a need to destroy gold, especially gold with the ability to ensnare creature and king alike, he sets out alone for Mordor. Anything to forget about the love that gold cost him.
What he doesn't know is that Thorin is no longer under the thrall of gold, and is desperately racing to catch up with him to keep him safe.
They may have just started on another adventure, but this one may not end as well as their first quest.

Summary
AU. The Parseltongue incident in second year caused a more violent explosion in Gryffindor House than anyone could have foreseen. Harry, trying to withdraw from everyone except his two best friends, finds himself helped by people he couldn’t have foreseen either, first Snape and then Draco Malfoy. Sometimes, all it takes is one sudden impulsive throwing of a stone for the ripples of change to spread through several lives.

Voldemort has made a bargain with Harry to stop killing muggles and muggle-borns (when at all possible, of course) in exchange for Harry's cooperation. While Harry thinks he's using the time to find a way to defeat the Dark Lord, he will realize that Voldemort is always one step ahead, and so long as he isn't killing anyone...what's the big deal? He has bigger things to worry about now, anyway. Summary
Riddick had been on the run since he was sixteen. Running from the ghosts of his parents whose deaths he couldn't handle, from his planet, from his future as an Alpha Guardian, and more importantly, running from himself. He had thought he was doing good, keeping ahead of the mercs after him for a crime he had not actually committed. Then he received news that Furya had been attacked and his life is changed forever. While hunting for the stolen Furyan children he runs into both his future and Vaako, a man who is also running from himself and destined to be Riddick's Guide.
